  1. Only way you replace him is if a HOF manager became available. Yes, the O's did NOT play great down the stretch, but that's going to happen with a young team playing 162 together for the first time, that Is still figuring out what they're really made of. You guys were also victims of the format. A 3 game series is bullshit; WC rounds should be best of 5. No one that loses two games in a row should be "swept"

  2. They all need to learn how to meditate deeply & to learn creative visualization. I can guarantee you that this would help our guys connect more frequently. I have been proven correct about my analysis across a variety of fields. On to next year, Os.

  3. He is a top tier manager. He deserves a lot of credit. Some blame sure…but a ton of credit. Lest we forget…in his tenure, the turn around, the consistency and the energy around the team…he is the right guy for us.

  4. I genuinely think there’s equal blame for everyone (besides Burnes and Mullins) on the batters, Hyde/hitting coaches and Front Office.

Batters: Simply didn’t get it done with terrible approaches and not clutch with men in scoring position.

Hyde: Probably should’ve intentionally walked Witt in game 2 and let Perez stay in to face Pasquintino with the bases loaded and 2 in the 6th in a left vs lefty matchup and take your chances. Otherwise that’s my only complaint with Hyde in the series.

Elias: Could’ve gotten better veteran bats at the deadline to add to the lineup and stabilize it more and not put pressure on Holliday or Mayo who for the most part didn’t look fully ready yet in the regular season.

Given all the injuries and inconsistencies glad they still won 91 games and made the playoffs in back to back seasons. Changes in hitting philosophies hopefully happen next season and we’ll see what happens.

Keep up the good work Ryan and your team! Great content and perspective.

  5. They need to learn how to play small ball. Way too many 1 run losses where they had a guy at second, with no outs, and the guy gets stranded there. I know Earl Weaver hated it, but hitting to move a runner is an art. And bunting is not a sin when your team is not hitting.

  6. Two years of playoff sweeps, second half of this year was embarrassing and you guys are telling us don't blame the Head coach. Let's just run it all back for a 3rd year. Absurd.

  7. Yes, I watched over 150 of there games and they couldn't hit starting pitching all year, unlesd the starter imploded with walks or there were errors. They feasted on relief pitching but in the playoffs that's tougher to do. Too dependent on HRs and no willingness to get runners over to get 'em in. When you have the same problem for 164 games and it doesn't get fixed he and the hitting coaches need to go. The O's won't win a World Series with Hyde. He's not philosophically flexibile. Find a manager who can take this much talent to another level because he doesn't have it.

  8. Absolutely Hyde was a placeholder hired to stack L’s. He has taken this squad as far as he could. O’s need to hire Carlos Beltran to finish the job. A brilliant baseball mind, who will have the respect of the players the second he walks through the door.

  9. Ryan, I said this over on Zach and Kevin's channel too, but thank you for all the great content this season! The Ryan Ripken Media Empire reignited my love for baseball.

  10. In game 1 I was furious when Hyde didn’t walk Witt jr when he knocked in what ended up being the winning run, Pitching to Witt jr with a runner on third and 2 outs in a scoreless game is ridiculous, you walk him there every time. You don’t let their best player one of the hottest players in baseball beat you, you walk him and if the next batter beats you then you live with it, but you don’t let Witt Jr beat you period. Hyde did this all year long he would pitch to Judge and other teams best hitter with an open base and 2 outs in a tight game every single time.

  11. There's no way All Star catcher doesn't catch game 1 play-offs. So what 8f Burnes like 3rd catcher better? Hyde allowed that. Y'all say what u want that effected this team edit nit pick? Witts outs were more productive than the res of team. He led mlb hits , beat us in game 1, had productive out to get them first run and you pitch again? No excuse make someone else beat us

  12. Ryan, it’s a hitting philosophy that needs to change. Gotta swing earlier in counts and put more balls in play. Adley specifically. And I love this team. But that’s what needs to change

  13. I said I think the whole coaching staff needs to go, even though that might not be fair to them. I see now that Elias said Hyde is back for 25, though he didn't commit to any of the other coaches. I'm fine with that, if they replace a majority of the rest of the staff. We didn't field exceptionally well. We strike out an awful lot; I don't know how we ranked in strikeouts compared to the rest of the league, but it seems like 8-10 per game was the norm. That's way too many. Pitching is obviously a problem. And then there's the injuries. I don't know if they're freak or if there's something systemic to them, but 3 pitchers and Means a second time? Something is wrong there.

I hope they re-sign Burns and Santander. Burns should've won 20 games; the pen blew several games where he was leading. (Aside from Burns and Eflin, the rest of the pitching staff can go, as far as I'm concerned.) Santander deserves more post-season time – and success – with the Birds. If he wants to come back. Make him the regular DH and get one of the younger guys in RF.

One question: 29 games in 30 days during June? I don't remember schedules like that. Maybe they're more common than I recall, but that seemed to take a toll on this club. Was that causation or correlation? Everything went to sh*t starting in July.

  14. They choke. Last season ,major choke. This season, they backed into the playoffs anyway so getting booted out shouldn’t surprise anyone. Unfortunately these p,Ayers now have this monkey on their backs and each and every season they will have failure lurking.

  15. What happen to this fan base … it’s loser mindset to just be happy to get regular season wins … two straight years of sweeps and y’all still holding Hyde’s junk like a groupie smfh the orioles will not win a championship as long as Hyde is the manager

  16. You can make all the excuses you want but Hyde has been out managed in 2 straight playoffs, unless he learns how to play small ball and learn to manufacture runs come playoff time it will be a reoccurring theme !! I don’t dislike him but I’ll be honest I don’t see this team taking the next step with him as manager !!

  17. You know I was thinking about this and last year the orioles first half was great then you could see them start to taper off a bit and who came in? Aaron Hicks what was Aaron hicks a guy who got on base a bunch and a veteran leader. I think we need someone better than that but you could see his impact last year.

  18. Funny enough if the wall wasn't moved we have 2 more runs. We made 1 quality trade at the deadline and that bullpen that shut us down were mostly acquisitions that were made by KC before the deadline. So they didn't just beat us on the field, at the manager level but also at the front office level. All the levels within the organization lost those games.

  19. The hitting coaches surely need to go. But Hyde can’t hit for the team….. my only knock on Hyde was putting Kimbrel in all those times and it cost us like 8 or 9 wins. I also hate that we never play small ball. Can’t hit or advance runners over, and the batters POP OUT TOO MUCH! Adley and Santander particularly …. The pitching staff did an amazing job.

  20. His biggest mistake by far yesterday was letting Cowser face the tough lefty with the bases loaded in the disastrous 5th inning. EVERYONE who has followed the team this season knew he would strike out, everyone except Hyde.

  21. What you're missing is the collective look in the eye of the roster, minus Ced, at the plate. And the commom way that each at bat seemed the same. I'd love to see the stat that shows how many middle middle pitches Adley watched go by since the All-Star break. If its the hitting coaches, Hyde's fishing buddies, then I'd say the fish rrots from the head down.

  22. Absolutely not should he be fired. Are you guys forreal!? This is more on the players, not the manager. There had been countless of great calls that he’s made this year guys. Can you not see the emotion he has!? I been saying this the last couple months, how the heck is this on Hyde!?! I agree with Brad

  23. Hyde is a really good guy and a really mediocre manager.

Common sense says to bring in the most proven, successful major league manager you can. It’s simple.

Hyde has proven he can get the O's to the playoffs and then get swept there. I have every reason to expect the same result in 2025.

I’m surprised and disappointed that Elias sees it differently.

Ah, well. I enjoyed watching some O's this year, The future is good but maybe not great. Now it’s hockey season and football season and real life season.
