bro was the definition of MLB stat padder…. would occasionally hit a big HR but also would strikeout a fuck ton in important at bats. Majority of dude’s stats came from when the Brewers were already winning and beating up on trash bullpen arms.
MA said he’d pay a high AAV, just not for 6 years. Willy certainly didn’t help himself on the big stage, and looked bad defensively for the last month and half. He’ll be 30 during the next season. I love the guy, but I think he’s overrated by fans. He’s a mid tier starting SS who doesn’t track to improve his numbers offensively or defensively over any contract.
Ha-Seong Kim Will most likely not take his option and be a FA which would make him every teams 1st choice if looking for a SS. Willy will still get paid, but idk that it will be as mind blowing an amount as many here say. But anything can happen in FA so we just wait and see. But I don’t think the Brewers were wrong for not overspending to extend him.
