  1. Ya we know Gretzky is the best Oiler but you could've reviewed his accomplishments and other honorable mentions like you did with all the other franchises.

  2. Hot take, but I think that Ryan Smyth is the best Oiler of all-time. Wayne Gretzky is no doubt a great hockey player, but Ryan Smyth is a better oiler.

  3. Even if i agree on the obvious Howe, Gretzky, Mario, i dont agree on Orr, He played 10 seasons for Bruins and ofc was amazing and a legend but Bourque did 21! Seasons for Boston, the ending with him going to Colorado on like an approved by Boston fan base cup chase is the biggest loyalty ive seen in Hockey for a player from fans, and the picture of him lifting the stanley cup after Sakic gave it to him first of respect is the greatest picture in Hockey and possible sport and im not even a Boston/Colorado fan thinking that, there is so much what hockey, respect, loyalty, sportsmanship, determination in that arch i almost get teary eyed just writing about it

  4. Great video! Do gotta argue brett hull's ego and laziness in regards to 2 way play is why the good stl teams of the 90's never had a deep playoff run (pretty sure he was gone by the time they made the conference finals vs COL). Any chance you'd reveal who was behind federko?🤞

  5. Habs fan here, Maurice Richard is the right choice… Beliveau was amazing, and Lafleur was the best hockey player on the planet in the late 70’s, but the Rocket was the first superstar of the 6-team era and deserves to be remembered as the Habs greatest player ever… 👍

  6. When I have to wait for Vancouver to come up I skip the whole video but when u did it the other way around I actually went hmmm ok I wanna hear what the other teams are like on of the few times I made it through the whole video thanks for starting the other way

  7. Kopitar is 100% the correct pick for the Kings, already the games played and assist leader, once he passes Dionne's all time point record there will be no doubt. Robbed of that Conn Smythe in 2014 too

  8. An insanely good video. It's really the depth that you go with each team that makes this fun to watch, start to finish. My strongest disagreement – St Louis. Bernie Federko is St Louis, hands down. But must say – think I'm gonna watch again cause the vid was really good…

  9. John LeClair is my favorite but you can't argue with 2 cups.

I give it to Parent or LeClair or Lindross.

You can't ignore how absolutely terrible Clarke was in every position he held after his playing career. He even had a hand in souring Lindross's career.

  10. sigh I know relatively jack diddly squat about most NHL teams, so this one's a doozy:

Anaheim (Mighty) Ducks: Already a tough one despite being a newer franchise, it's a toss-up between Jean-Sebastien Giguere and Teemu Selanne. I'm going to give this one to Jiggy since he was on both the 2002-03 and 2006-07 teams.

Arizona/Phoenix Coyotes/Winnipeg Jets 1.0: As a send off for the Coyotes before the Utah franchise begins play, I'll pick Shane Doan as their greatest player. He's the only one who had his number retired.

Boston Bruins: Even though the Bruins have plenty of good options, there's no doubting who gets the nod here. The greatest Bruin is Bobby Orr, the greatest defenseman in NHL history.

Buffalo Sabres: This one's easy, the answer is Dominik Hasek. You can't argue against the greatest goalie of all-time.

Calgary/Atlanta Flames: Younger fans may tend towards Jerome Iginla, and those who like goaltending may go with Mike Vernon. That being said, I'm taking the mustache and picking Lanny McDonald.

Carolina Hurricanes/Hartford Whalers: Turns out that checking stats on Wikipedia is a good idea. I didn't know that Ron Francis played for the Whalers before he went to Pittsburgh and the Hurricanes after.

Chicago Blackhawks: This one's extremely tough to call, with the likes of Patrick Kane, Brandon Saad, Stan Mikita, and Glenn Hall being more than reasonable choices. However, I think I have to go with arguably the greatest left-winger in NHL history, the Golden Jet, Bobby Hull.

Colorado Avalanche/Quebec Nordiques: Even with all of the great players that were a part of the 1990's and early 2000's Avalanche juggernauts, I think it's only fair that I choose Patrick Roy, the piece that got them over the hump. Who knows, maybe Nathan MacKinnon takes this spot one day.

Columbus Blue Jackets: I think I can safely choose Rick Nash for the Jackets. He has quite the highlight reel if you look him up, and he's the first player that comes to mind for Columbus.

Dallas/Minnesota (North) Stars: Not only is Mike Modano the all-time leader in both goals and assists for the Stars, he played with them in both Minnesota and Dallas. I almost whiffed on this one like with the Hurricanes/Whalers, thank god for Wikipedia.

Detroit Red Wings: So many great Red Wings to choose from, Ted Lindsay, Terry Sawchuk, Steve Yzerman…oh, duh, I'm obviously choosing Gordie Howe. They didn't call him Mr. Hockey for no reason.

Edmonton Oilers: Wayne Gretzky. Words aren't strong enough to describe how cartoonishly dominant the Great One was in his prime.

Florida Panthers: Well…I may associate him with the Canucks, but Roberto Luongo is the only player whose number has been retired by the Panthers, so I guess this one's an easy choice. The Islanders probably kick themselves to this day for trading him away.

Los Angeles Kings: If you're expecting me to choose Wayne Gretzky again, I'm sorry to disappoint you. I'm choosing Marcel Dionne, the leader of the underrated Triple Crown Line.

Minnesota Wild: Uh…Mikko Koivu? He's the all-time points leader for the Wild, so I guess I'm picking him…?

Montreal Canadiens: The oldest and most storied NHL franchise, les Canadiens are not lacking in legendary players by any means. However, none wore the Bleu, Blanc, et Rouge better than the Rocket, Maurice Richard, the original goal-scoring wizard himself.

Nashville Predators: I'm just going to embrace the memes. Pekka Rinne will always be too good right now.

New Jersey Devils/Colorado Rockies: Unlike the last one, Martin Brodeur is not a meme choice. There's no jokes to be had when he's the all-time shutouts leader.

New York Islanders: Obviously I'm choosing a player from Long Island's dynasty years, and who better than the guy who had NINE consecutive 50-goal seasons? I am, of course, talking about Mike Bossy, the all-time leader in average goals-per-game.

New York Rangers: Funnily enough, Rod Gilbert was literally nicknamed "Mr. Ranger". An easy choice, especially since he's their all-time points leader.

Ottawa Senators: There's only one player who's played for and had his number retired by the modern Senators AND is in the Hockey Hall of Fame. And that player is Daniel Alfredsson.

Philadelphia Flyers: They were nicknamed the Broad Street Bullies back in the day, and no one personified that better than Bobby Clarke. Believe me, those old-school Flyers teams were nasty.

Pittsburgh Penguins: It's one thing to be the greatest player of a certain franchise, but Mario Lemieux takes it one step further because he literally bought the team to save it from bankruptcy. Combined with his legendary career, this is the easiest choice of the whole list (sorry, Sid).

San Jose Sharks: I really feel bad for Jumbo Joe Thornton. He played for the Sharks for such a long time and deserved to win a Cup with them, but he just couldn't get them over the hump, and it's a damn shame.

Seattle Kraken: I don't know why I'm even trying with a team that has only existed for three years. At the moment, Jared McCann is the all-time points leader, so he's getting my vote.

St. Louis Blues: Part of me wants to pick Brett Hull so badly. However, considering that Bernie Federko was the first Hall of Famer who primarily played for the Blues and is their all-time points leader, I think Federko will be getting my pick.

Tampa Bay Lightning: He may have been small in stature, but Martin St. Louis sure as hell played big. He's living proof that size isn't the end all and be all.

Toronto Maple Leafs: This might be the most controversial choice of the whole list, but I am in fact going to go with Tim Horton. Turns out that the co-founder and namesake of Tim Hortons was one tough son of a bitch, if Bobby Hull's word is to be believed (and it probably should be believed).

Vancouver Canucks: Ah yes, my beloved Canucks, how they never fail to rip my heart out. I'm going to agree with Johnathan and pick Henrik Sedin.

Vegas Golden Knights: It's really shocking that only a handful of the players picked by the Knights in the Expansion Draft stuck around long enough for their eventual Stanley Cup win. Of that handful, Johnathan Marchessault is their all-time points leader, so he gets my pick.

Washington Capitals: For the Capitals, I choose, shockingly enough, Alexander Ovechkin. Yeah, no, it's actually not shocking at all, because he's a goal-scoring machine.

Winnipeg Jets 2.0/Atlanta Thrashers: We have finally reached the finish line. I think it's only fair that Mark Scheifele, the first player drafted by the new Winnipeg Jets after they moved from Atlanta and their number 2 all-time points scorer, gets the nod here.

  11. This left stunned. It made me realize how many actual franchise stars we have from Finland. I was expecting Barky, Selänne and Rinne to be in there, but totally missed Koivu and the honorable mentions like O. Jokinen, Kiprusoff and Aho. Great video.
