  5. I can't see what goes on in someone's mind, but I have to say there was intent. He had no chance of stopping the player. I think he did it on purpose the whole way. He even stuck out his arms, which is a clipping penalty. He should get a suspension, but this is probably as close as he gets to the nhl anyway.

  7. Yeah, you should send a guy over to the Leafs and say — hey, your guy has to fight. Pare was trying to stay with the play. It is not like they only had a minute left in the game to set that fight up. Loosing your #$%$# and ambushing him from behind is silly.

  8. this is the old school hockey we love, hurts to see my fav player go down, but i felt the same way when schefiele hit that candians player in the playoffs a few years back, if you gonna throw your weight around on the ice, you should be ready to drop the gloves, weather your 160lbs or 250lbs, there will be no retaliation on opening nght as Pare is career ahler at the moment

  9. 1st time i watched it i thought it was intentional but after watching it again it doesnt look like Pare did anything but prepare for the hit. At the most he leaned into Laine as Laine tried to get past him. Good call Sam

  10. It was an accident ,if you pause your video at exactly 1:34 you can see their legs are going to collide and they BOTH moved in towards each other!
    But at least if the ref gave a penalty to Pare it may have deflated situation a bit , bad refs!
    Bad luck yes, little aggressive on Pare part yes, but a intent to injure , no chance.
    But to only give Xhekaj a fine after 6 punches to back of the head of a prone player is a disgrace.
    Morgan Rielly got 5 games for 1 punch and Xhekaj gets a 3k fine for an assault?
