I think the Sens will be very underestimated this season
Gripper nation !!!!
I think they need almost everything to go right. Hockey season is long. It almost never does.
Ottawa is not good. Just don't tell Ottawa fans and we'll all be fine.
2 years in a row with this painful video. Three guys from TO without a clue on the actual in depth talking points surrounding the team. Just shoot me a message guys I'll be happy to hop on next time. Adam can't even get the point totals stats right. They had 86 points two years ago and regressed to 78, not a jump from "sixty-something" to 78.
As a sens fan…. I take the under hahaha. I shall not be hurt again
1) Florida 2) Toronto 3) Tampa 4) Detroit 5) Boston 6) Buffalo 7) Montreal 8) Ottawa
The SDPN crew is bullish on the Sens.
Me: The Sens will finish 7th with each team in the Atlantic getting 80+ points and 4 of those teams making the playoffs. Overall, the standings will be the same as last year except with Toronto and Boston switching places, this year coming 1st and 3rd respectively. The Sens fanbase will respond positively to the season given the Andlauer ship will have few non-hockey distractions, if any, and filled with positive off-ice hockey news (new building developments, new staff additions etc).
90 pts sounds about right. The addition of Ullmark, Pinto not suspended, a (hopefully) healthy Norris/Stutzle/Chabot, and a new coach. Ottawa has been hyped up the last few years, but this year they may be a bit slept on since people don’t want to be burned again. Kind of reminds me of pre-Tocchet Canucks.
Under Martin as coach the Sens were actually solid defensively, but the goaltending just never got better.
Forget who it was that did the write up, but the Sens last year lost around 8-10 points from just their goaltending alone (Korpisalo, Forsberg, Søgaard). If they had league average goalies they likely still miss playoffs, but they finish with a lot more respectable record and are in the WC hunt.
Big x-factor for the team is Norris. If he can get back to his form from a few years ago then he’s a great 2C and will drastically improve the PP. But if he misses more time and/or just isn’t the same player then they have to hope Pinto is ready for 2C duties.
If this team has an Achilles heal it’s the defensive depth. Chabot has dealt with injuries the past few years and Kleven is a rookie who’s unproven. If Chabot goes down again or Kleven struggles then they could be hurting for another option on the left side. The right side is a big drop off after Jensen and there’s probably not a big difference between JBD/Hamonic and the depth (Guenette, Matinpalo).
Just, drama free season. Please.

Im glad you mentioned the Grieg-Perron-Cousins line, because I think that's going to be a terror to deal with. Here's hoping to see some Leaf-Sens playoff action this year
you know what my dudes – this is why still I watch the SDPN – and yes Im a Sens fan. You guys might be Leaf losers at heart, but you still give an honest, hand-over-heart take on things (that not all leaf fans want to hear). And I love you for that.
Cheers from Sudbury
As a Sens fan I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. Been disappointed too many times in the past. Looking forward to the season though with low expectations and hope to be surprised.
I tried to keep my mouth shut about the sens this preseason if we make the playoffs ill just be happy but I'm predicting nothing.
I totally agree with you the Ottawa Senators are going to be a big problem for a lot of teams no matter what. Gaudette, Janik, Yakemchuck (7th overall pick helps the right side 1st in defensive scoring in the preseason but apparently can’t skate 😂)that bottom 6 is going to terrorize teams this season🔥🖤❤️💛GoSensGo
I like these guys more and more each day ❤
They don't look great pre season Florida will run through them Oct 10th
And you didint even mention Giroux 😊
9:21 Ottawa had 86 points in 2022-23 and 78 points last year. People expected them to make noise last year because of the 86 points. They're always hyped up, and then they disappoint. Under and 6th behind Florida, Tampa, Toronto, Boston, and Detroit.
