  1. This contract is one of the worst overpayments ever. I don't care if the team "owed" him. He is not now, nor was he ever worth 6.5M a year.

Let him play this year and look at buying him out after this season.

  2. I have said it before, If you look at Gally historically he has always been under payed throughout his career before this contract. Bergevins at the time promised him to make it right. This contract is exactly that. It was always known that this contract was bloated as a reward we hoped he would be better than he is now but his style of hockey takes a toll so the player's downfall can be earlier than expected. Ultimately it's Molson that pays the contract more than any gm, i hope Molson keeps Gally around and times his rebuild on it. Once Gally is off the books i expect the habs to be fighting for the playoffs

  3. bro. they wanted all non french players out first and find all excuses for the french players who are full of crap to stay in the team lets face it french Quebecois think that the french players are better then the non french players and Montreal should have only French players it is about politics

  4. Yeah he doesnt seem to be able to keep up with how fast the game is now and it’s becoming hard to watch him struggle .
They need to move or buy him out to free up a spot and devellop a young player while the habs are still in rebuild mode .

  5. Every know at the start of is career it will be bank up. He was underpay until the stanley cup final. Every team as bad contract, some are, because gallagher work had its a team leader, i consider as a good bad contract

  6. Brendan Gallagher is the heart and soul of the team.. and he still a very effective player on the third and fourth line.. and more than that, he deserves to be part of the rebuild and its success. I could understand if he wasn't being effective but that's not the case.. and two to sit there and say that he isn't playing well in the preseason. I mean, are you serious? You're going to judge him by that? Makes no sense to me.. I love galley and he's still a very effective player

  7. The problem with Montreal having such a very good prospect pool(young) is that sooner or later you have to play them or lose them for nothing. The one solution is moving the older player(trade or buyout). Then you have room to move the younger player up. I would say trade the older player and retain some of his salary. Hopefully you can get a decent draft pick.

  8. Mtl will be punishing themselves buying out Gally. There is no rush. His contract is not hurting their cap. They currently have almost 20M in room due LTIR. By the time they will need room, his contract will be over.

  9. I love the guy for everything he's done for the habs, but watching him the past couple seasons has be rough.
Its like hes got ZERO offensive awareness and the play just dies when hes apart of it.
