  1. Eh. Goldy is a 37 year old 1B. Arenado was worse IMO. Offense was basically the same but Arenado was paid a lot more and is only 33. I think he was more disappointing this year.

  2. He wasn’t even top 3 least valuable on this team. That’s saying more about how many bad players we had but also Goldy wasn’t completely useless. Just mostly useless.

    Even if you factor in money, Mikolas was still worse. Lynn, Gibson, and Burleson all had less WAR and played the majority of the season.

  3. I recognize that Paul Goldschmidt is a millionaire professional athlete, but I still can’t help but think…this dude has parents, a wife, kids, and they’re all seeing headlines like this right now. Kind of sad from a human perspective.

  4. Considering this was his first bad year with us and it’s wasn’t even that awful I’m fine with his contract. Mo just failed in other areas, mainly player dev.
