  1. I don't like the 8.25mil. first off that's the rest of the Bruins cap space so another year of blowing all the money before the season even starts. But also I've said it before Swayman has proved nothing aside from a really good round 1 last year and being a solid 1B for 40 games. In 3 years this deal might look good but for now, I don't love it

  2. I'm happy for THG that Swayman signed, but as Boston anti-fan, I can now only hope that he crumbles under the pressure of being the No 1 and that contract becomes a real stinker.

  3. Boston just went from potentially being out of the playoff picture by American Thanksgiving to being back in the playoff picture again, depending on how their shiny new UFAs work out vs their roster losses in the summer.

  4. He’s tied for 5th in AAV for goaltenders at $8.25M. That’s more than fair. The cap is going to continue to raise and now other goalies are going to ask for that amount or even more. By 2026 I would be surprised if he’s only the 10th best paid goaltender and one of the better valued contracts

  5. A part time goalie (up to this point) should not go into a negotiation trying to "reset the goalie market." I understand 100%, if they walked away, someone else would have given it to him, so spare me the "demand sets the market" speech. Still not right.

  6. I expect Swayman to have 55+ starts. Curious, did Swayman miss all of preseason? If so, gonna take him 2 – 3 weeks to catch up.

  7. i can live with Swayman getting $8.25M… when i heard (incorrectly apparently) that he turned down $8M over 8 years, i scoffed at him? I thought $8M was a good number for him? He is also worth $8.25M tho, imo
