  1. Feels like it’s more on the scheme/coaching than the players. We were all saying how terrible Keith carter is as O line coach. Hackett’s play calling and play design have been absolute garbage. Maybe don’t have breece lined up 9 yards behind the LOS when you need to get a 2 yard first down.

  2. Rodgers took a LOT of hits you don’t want a 40 year old taking. But you won’t hear that in the postgame thread. Mostly a lot of whining.

  3. There’s a reason why people think this org is a disaster.

Saleh did not pick Hackett. Hackett is terrible. Saleh has definitely not been showing great head coaching skills, no argument there but the defense shows up ready to play.

The jets are stuck doing what Rodgers wants. Not to say it can’t work, but we aren’t creative, we don’t scheme players open. We don’t maximize talent on the offensive side. It’s just not the way they do things.

On the defensive side it’s the polar opposite. Draft and develop. Dudes showing up all over the place. Next man up mentality and it works. Hell echols had a key int yesterday with sauce hurt.

Saleh has something. I’m not just going to sit here and bash him. He’s not terrible at all aspects of the job. And sure maybe he’s just a great d coordinator.

But when the offense is the problem. And for two weeks straight we lose because of the offense, I struggle to point the finger at Saleh entirely. Again, he has no stamp on this offense. Maybe that’s a problem, but i don’t think he’s the only coach in the league doing this. I’d be curious to see what demeco Ryan’s involvement in the Texans offense is as a comp.

It’s a down week. This is sad.

But gets your emotions out of your system and get fucking back on track. We play for the division lead on Monday and I’m sorry but the bills aren’t great. They beat up 3 terrible teams. And they lost to two top 15 teams.

Jets want to be something? You go beat the mother fucking bills on Monday.

  4. Oh he’s disappointed? Stop bitching.. grow a pair and fire Carter and then yourself, while you’re at it

  5. Saleh, you’re the disappointment. This is your 4th season as HC and there has been 0 improvement.

  6. You know what, I wouldn’t even be upset if they put a gag order on this guy and he just stopped saying anything.

Everything he says just makes it worse.

  7. Hackett has to be fired ASAP (with Sir Aaron’s permission, of course). Woody Johnson doesn’t fire head coaches mid-season. Fine. Let’s see if Saleh can salvage this season with an OC that approaches average. If not, everyone is fired at the end of the season. It’s still early enough to easily salvage this season. Baseball teams fire hitting coaches mid-season all the time and keep the manager. Do the same. This isn’t an offense and hasn’t looked like one all season.

It’s worth a try before blowing everything up.

And this is on Rogers (and the Jets for catering to him). As others have posted, Hackett isn’t Saleh’s guy. EVERYONE Rogers had brought in has been bad. I appreciate Lazard’s chemistry with Rogers, but I can’t bear to watch another perfectly placed ball bounce off his hands.

Rogers is the hot psycho girlfriend. He’s great, but comes with a ton of baggage (both on and off the field).

  8. Stick a fork in him. This guy is cooked. He knows his ass is getting fired. For the love of god can we do it now.

  9. I watched Saleh during yesterday’s game and kept asking myself, “what does he actually do?”. He’s not calling defensive plans. He has no involvement with the offense. I rarely saw him talking into his headset. I did see a lot of clapping….

  10. If I hadn’t cultivated this account for many years I’d probably be changing my username soon

  11. The fundamental problem the jets have is that their decision making processes are – and for the last 20+ years have been – broken. Every decision is either a reaction to the last thing that went wrong, or a way of protecting/massaging someone’s ego. The pockets of success they’ve had under woody have come when the talent level has been elevated (period after Parcells left, period after Mangini left) and they’ve had a coach who isn’t yet jaded and demoralised by the organisation (Herm, Rex for about 3 years each).

Of course, Woody didn’t hire Parcells and he didn’t know when he hired Mangini that it would be his input into front office decisions that were most impactful. He doesn’t understand what it takes to win which is why he’s equivocated time and again with his GM and HC decisions. Saleh would’ve been fine coaching the 09 or 10 jets, like Rex was, but we’d have ended up here with him eventually.

  12. How does this big scary NY media not ask him a single question about the accountability issues this team has? Such softball fucking questions.

  13. “Well, well, well, not so easy to find a head coach that doesn’t suck shit, huh?”

    -Adam Gase

  14. Turns out Joe Douglas has zero ability to make a competent OL and Saleh has no skills related to offense aside from loyalty to idiots like Carter.
