You just can’t hate the Lions

You just can’t hate the Lions

  1. I want to see the amount of negative sentiment toward other teams by fanbase. How often do Eagles fans express negative feelings about other teams compared to Panthers fans, for example

  2. To be fair – we haven’t won anything yet and we were a franchise to be pitied for years. Hard to have negative feelings about that.

  3. To be fair we were the laughing stock of the league for a good 30 years. It’s hard to hate on the team going 0-16. Now that we are winning we are winning with Danny C the most likable coach ever. Also helps out OC agave up head coaching offers to stay with the team. Not really much to hate on.

  4. Browns need to be much higher. That Watson contract/trade is looking soooooo bad right now.

  5. Give it time. If the Lions continue to be successful, especially if they win a Super Bowl, that sentiment will turn around fast.

I speak from experience as I’m also a Chiefs fan. We were the lovable plucky underdogs for a couple years there and now we’re the most hated team in the league.

  6. We either die heroes or live to become villains. Holmes seems to embrace the notion of bringing us to that promised land.

  7. Speaking of which, some friends of mine are looking for a bandwagon now that the Bengals are falling apart and want to know if you guys have a chant or saying or something like that

  8. Our sliver of hate is probably 80% Seahawks and Rams fans, plus a few Vikings fans who carry a weird obsession about us

  9. Hate was always directed to the Fords or coaching staff. We always felt for the players needing to suit up for the bullshit they were put through.

    Luckily we’re past that now

  10. If the Lions sustain a high level of success I’d expect that line to grow. The Lions have the “benefit” of being an historical underdog in the Super Bowl era. If/when becoming the favorite is more the norm people will hate on them for being so.

Who has largely dominated NFL football in recent history? Where are they on this list?

  11. I say this with all love in my heart.

But that’s going to / gotta change if we want to make the next step. When we start trucking teams it’s gonna change.

Detroit vs the World is a real thing.

  12. I keep saying it.

    We’re not villains. We’re babyfaces.

    Lions are America’s Team

  13. The correlation between success and hate is quite high. I assume there is a lagging effect, but after we win the SB this year I want to at least reach the middle rankings of hatred. Don’t want to be there with the teams like the Cowgirls and Chiefs, but somewhere in the middle would be cool.

  14. Setting aside division rivalries, people mostly hate teams that are more successful than their own. If the Lions have the same success in the next five years as the Chiefs had in the last five years, you can bet they will be near the top.

  15. Why do the Ravens get hate? They’re awesome. I hate that they destroyed us last year. But they are a great organization. I’m guessing people love to hate on Lamar?

  16. So twitter likes….
    Houston
    Jacksonville
    Indianapolis
    Cincinnati
    Arizona
    Seattle
    Washington
    Tampa Bay

  17. i’d say they hate us cuz they ain’t us but i think they love us cuz they ain’t us 😂

  18. was this conveniently cropped to not show texans at the bottom? thats another team i cant imagine anyone hating.

  19. I wonder if hatred towards team’s fanbases is included in hatred of teams. Because I don’t really hate any teams, but boy are there a lot of fanbases I hate.
