In all seriousness, this is likely because the Tigers play at 6 pm Eastern that day in Detroit, and this will ease traffic around the park (since the stadiums are right next to each other).

Makes sense with the Tigers and all but damn I’m not happy about a 3am start time with all the ceremony of a home opener to boot. Yeah 2am would’ve been brutal too but going to bed at 5am is way better than going to bed at 6am after the game. Lucky I got a late shift but still man.

Huh, I actually thought this was on the road and the home opener was the Nashville game on Saturday.
Easier to do the double header now
I booked the Friday off work for this game. In the UK puck drop will be 0100 am so bed for 0400 probably. That hour is going to make a difference!
But I’m still not missing this game for anything.
