The pain is endless guys.

Moreno believes he has the talent in the organization which includes the farm system to turn the Angels around in a hurry.

“Look at a roster and see how many homegrown players we have playing for us,” Moreno said. “When people look at our system, they say, ‘Oh geez, they’ve got a low-rated system.’ Why do we continue to produce major-league players?"

I want to have whatever this geezer is smoking. His hopium is off the roof, or he just said that to sell tickets.

  1. “Why do we continue to produce major league players”

Im sure it has nothing to do with the training staff’s utter inability to make players harder to break and keep them on the field. Injuries happen, but they happen at an alarming rate with the Angels.

Because of the high number of injuries, the team is forced to reach into the farm for replacements; often times far earlier than players are ready for.

  2. The reason you have Major League players is because you have to have them on the field. Most of these guys would still be in the minor leagues on most teams

  3. >*Why do we continue to produce major-league players?”*

Not according to your manager a couple weeks ago.

  4. Since he change the name to Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim he mess up the OC vibe.

How’s that paying off Arte? Excluding its residents.

  5. The fact that he’s using the “homegrown players in the majors” is all you need to know about the delusion this guy has and almost makes you feel he has borderline dementia when bringing up “talent” is much different than producing a winning culture. If anything, these players may even think that as long as they have some talent they know it’s an easy path to the big leagues if they get on the angels. This guy really needs to go.

  6. PR plain and simple.

Arte seems to contradict Wash’s complaint near the end of the season that the roster was jam-packed with players who weren’t major league caliber.

On the other hand, Arte’s emphasis on homegrown talent gives me hope that we won’t be adding another Josh Hamilton or Anthony Rendon type to the roster this off-season.

Still, the only hopeful thing Arte could say is “I’m going to give Perry and Wash free rein. Those guys really know the game.”

  7. Worst sports news I’ve seen all year. We’re destined to sit at the bottom until he passes. This sucks.

  8. just because you rush young players to the big leagues, that does not mean you “produce a lot of major leaguers.”

For example, this organization hasn’t produced a single above average starting pitcher in almost a decade

  9. Let me tell you why Farte..
this year your team finished 36 games below 500
This year your team missed the playoffs for the 11th straight year
This year your pitching continued to suck
Finally, you as an owner will not change anything
Please sell the team to an organization that is professionally run

  10. I’ve stood by and supported the team for all these down years. This past year broke my back and now this shit??? Our players and fans are too good to deserve this shit. Fuck Arte.

  11. Somebody’s gotta come in and give him an offer he can’t refuse. I wish Ballmer would do for the Angels what he’s done with the Clippers.

  12. This sub cracks me up. I’ve seen many of you in this thread applaud Perry for having so many of his drafted players on the roster. Yet when Arte brings it up you shit in Arte lmao.

You can’t have it both ways

  13. The beatings will continue until morale improves. Great. Just what we need to hear after a near 100 loss season.

  14. The least you could do is fire Carpino. But while you’re at it start investing in our scouting and medical and conditioning and development. Hire someone to replace Carpino who might execute on those things.

  15. In that same interview Arte claimed that increasing payroll is an “automatic loss,” and that teams that are spending money are losing, “lots of money.”

This guy is such a lying loser. If he really was losing money he would have sold the damn team.

  16. He says the farm system is good and produces major league players while in the same breath talks about how we have been lacking in depth. BOTH OF THESE THINGS CANNOT BE TRUE AT THE SAME TIME

  17. He will always be a marketer first. That’s why he isn’t transparent into what he’s doing. It’s why he wouldn’t say they are rebuilding. Right or wrong, he will never say anything that may give people a reason to not go to games, and that points out the biggest issue. He doesn’t seem to understand that WINNING is what fills the stadium over the long term. The best marketing in the world cant hide a bad product. It can work for a while, as it has the last decade, but it finally caught up to him

  18. guess what Arte, until you actually prove your intentions to improve the team I will not watch, i will not renew my MLBtv sub next year
