[Adam Schefter] Statement from Robert Saleh

Statement from Robert Saleh:

“To the Jets Organization, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible people. I will always be appreciative of the love and support from everyone at 1 Jets Drive.

To all of the players, I truly love and appreciate every single one of you. The character of the men in the locker room made coaching you guys the ultimate privilege. Through all the ups and downs, each and every one of you showed up everyday and attacked every moment.

To my fellow coaches and staff, it has been an honor to work with all of you. Every one of you were “all in” and made sacrifices for one another that will never be forgotten. I wish you all the very best of luck for the remainder of the season.

To the most passionate fan base in the NFL, thank you for embracing my family. It has been a pleasure calling New York our home and we will forever appreciate all of the memories that were created here.

With Love and Regard,

All Gas No Brake!!!”

  1. Never had a problem w the man’s character, he had tons of it. Just couldn’t operate as a competent NFL coach. Shame to see and Woody was definitely extra brutal w it, but we move. Best of luck, Rob.

  2. Great human being, bad head coach. Best of luck to him. I’m sure he’ll be a great DC somewhere next year.

  3. Great guy, bad HC. He’ll get a good DC job next year on a really good team and will still be getting paid by Woody next year. Dont feel bad for him

  4. Classy, as expected from Saleh. It’s a shame the hierarchy of this franchise looks like the royal family tree.

  5. Fitting he ended with one of his slogans. And I don’t mean that negatively. Good luck Robert, I don’t know if he’ll ever be a HC again, but he’s gonna thrive on what he does best.

  6. Weird to not mention anything about Ulbrich after Ulbrich thanked Saleh multiple times yesterday

  7. Robert Saleh is a good person. He’s also a really good defensive coordinator. He’s just a god awful head coach. I hope he bounces back and lands himself a solid DC job somewhere not in the AFC

  8. All of this “good guy, bad coach”…

No offense, but I’m glad he’s fucking gone. If you can’t deliver on the goods and get the Jets to the playoffs, get the fuck out with this “peace of mind/cheerleading” shit.

I hope beyond anything Ulbrich lights a fire under the players and they do well, because it’s frustrating at how miserable it’s become being a Jets fan.

  9. he always brought positive energy. wish it worked out and he had more success over his tenure here. wish him the best going forward.

  10. This is the part that stinks. This isn’t an Adam Gase situation he’s a genuine good guy and I really wanted him to succeed. But at the end of the day the Jets still owe him $10mm and he’ll have plenty of options for a DC job next year. Also with the Same Old Jets narrative around the league I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets another shot in a few years.

  11. Thanks coach. Wish the outcome was different but you’re still a solid human being.
    Best of luck.

  12. Salehs a good dude. But I think this move had to be made, the messaging of “we just need to clean up a few things” is stale in year 4.

  13. Class. Separate the man from the job. I personally wish him well in life. These are human moments.

  14. Saleh is another in the long list of guys showing how a coordinator with some juice should look at QB situation over all other factors when deciding what job to take.

  15. Good dude but terrible coach. Prob could’ve handled this better but we’re a joke of an organization and always will be as long as that piece of shit Woody Johnson owns the team
