  1. Hard to see this happening. Are we willing to move both Grissom and Campbell? Story is not going anywhere soon.

Not to mention, are the Sox going to spend the money on Adames when pitching has to be the priority?

We could also have very similar conversations about signing Ha Seong Kim.

  2. Move story to second woudnt mind that but I would like him on this team maybe move some of those prospects of Mayer or Campbell to second base to be honest

  3. If they start trading prospects when we are so close, AND have Trevor Story, then the last few years were a complete waste of time. Chasing free agents was an option but the plan was to wait for the prospects.

  4. Sounds nice theres a lot to like about Adames but I would be more worried about pitching needs by getting a starter and bullpen help. Some of the question marks with the extra infielders could get worked out in the spring. Would be fun to see who could win the second base spot. Competition is a good thing!! Rumors are just words the action will tell the tale of 2025. Sorry Corbin I'll miss tonight at 7 pm Wife and myself will be on a 2 hour history and haunted walk from 5 to 7 in Charlestown West Virginia

  5. Sign willy to play 3B (and SS when story eventually gets hurt) and move devers to DH. Trade some of your top prospects for pitching, which is needed because we dont have alot of good pitching in the majors or the minors. See if you can make a team take masa's salary in one of those trades

  6. I'd definitely like Adames on the sox however I don't think it's going to happen. Top priority is an ace and right handed power hitters at DH and right field. Obviously we have no way of knowing if Breslow is going to be able to accomplish this. Personally I'd pass on Adames.

  7. I think that Adamas would work well for us. Breslow put a big emphasis on organizational depth and I could see where cycling Adames, Devers, Story, and TBD second baseman rotate keeping them all more healthy and having a ready made starter when one of those guys goes down. I don't think this will happen but I could see it happening. On top of that if they can sign him it makes Campbell or Meyer expendable in the trade market and tbh we need to trade for a starter so someone has got to go and this would make it more clear (Campbell, Meyer, and/or Masa being the possibilities.)
There is a lot of sense in this move but I just don't see it happening.

  8. No chance I want Willy Adames. Dude is a career 248 hitter coming off the best year of his career so he will want way to much money. Dude strikes out way to much and is not a reliable hitter. He is an ok power guy but once again in his whole career only hit over 30 HR's twice. The Story signing was beyond a trash signing and this one will be the same. No thanks for me.

  9. As a Liverpool supporter I'm well used to FSG's preference of seeing who we can promote from the youth set up in lieu of actually buying someone in the transfer market. I'm not sure how baseball works when the season ends. Do all the players head off for several months of nothingness or are the minor league players brought to Fenway and put through their paces to assess their potential to join the bigs? AND, here's a biggee, do people feel Alex Cora is the right man to continue to lead the Redsox? Lastly, how good is this post season. Who are we all rooting for (guessing a subway series is bottom of the list!)?

  10. Willy Adames coming to the Red Sox in free agency is most likely not ever going to happen … The Red Sox I highly doubt would eat a significant portion of Trevor Story's 22.5 million dollar per year deal to best make room for Adames … I have also heard that the LA Dodgers have had an ongoing high interest in Adames and would easily out bid the Red Sox for his shortstop and right hand power hitting services …

I would also think that Red Sox ownership and management would want more time to properly evaluate the maturation of both Kristian Campbell and Vaughn Grissom before committing to a veteran shortstop (29 years old) who is quickly approaching the back end of his prime playing years … Pitching, pitching and more pitching will be Craig Breslow's focus and main emphasis this off season …

  11. You're daydreaming, Red Sox owners never going to invest in big contract players, they almost finish in last place and the 2025 it's going to be the same, just look at the payroll of Dodger,s San Diego, and Mets they're in play offs now, cause they put big money to acquire first quality players, since the Red Sox complete destroy the 2018 team and will never it's going to be again because they want to wing big time without any investment and as soon the have good players in the line up the trade them, so the Red Sox feature looks really dark.

  12. I wouldn’t mind Willie. If there moving Story to 2B. Another option I’d love is Tommy Edman. He’d be great to play 2nd or the OF. We need to get a Casas extension done and get a SP or 2.

  13. Could move Willy to second. But comes down to, will Boston pursue players that have a QO attached to them and will they offer more than 2 or 3 yrs. Breslow said they did identify good players, they went elsewhere. They were basically outbid on those players.

  14. I was on board last offseason as the Starting 2B and insurance for story. With Mayer this close and a wealth of other options idk if the opportunity cost makes much sense this offseason. Also feels like dodgers are gonna overpay for him given how SS needy they are
