[Pardon My Take] Did Troy Aikman ever think about deleting his Patrick Mahomes tweet?

  1. I hate this revisionist history stuff with tweets and dialogue. Like, it’s okay to say something and be wrong and leave it documented. It can show growth.

  2. Good for him. Own being wrong.

And I agree it felt random to bring Troy of all people into it in the first place

  3. I think it was hilarious that Patrick had to throw 4 TDs to pass Aikman on the list and he went and did it. Ice fucking cold.

  4. Ngl would be funny if Mahommes quote rt after he gets it to 133% of his super bowls saying “hey”

  5. Best hope he has in this going away is the death of Twitter and they are really trying over at X.

  6. Tbf I do understand why you would get defensive when someone brings you up like that. He never disrespected mahomes either idk what the issue is. His response is pretty believable in this clip there’s no further need of discussion.

But who even cares about a tweet that happened a while ago.

  7. He wasn’t really talking shit directly to Mahomes, he was replying to a tweet that sort of took a jab at him, so he jabbed back with his 3 rings, which imo is fair game. In hindsight it looks silly but I don’t really see anything wrong with it.

  8. His reasoning for the tweet definitely makes more sense now. He’s 100% right, why are they comparing Mahomes to him anyway? What brought Troy into that comparison to start with? Everyone was dogging on Mahomes the first couple seasons until he showed everyone up. Troy is just man enough to own up to the statement and not delete it. I really don’t think I’ve heard a bad thing about Mahomes from Troy since then anyway.

  9. By the way, did anybody else catch Aikman say Spags usually never sends blitz during Monday’s game? I never really looked at the numbers but I always felt Spags was actually pretty aggressive and one of the DCs that sends the blitz most often?

  10. I still do believe that Troy doesn’t like Mahomes. On Monday, a few friends were watching who hadn’t watched football in a while and they all mentioned that Troy and Buck were annoying them. I told them to notice how whenever Buck brings up Mahomes, Troy stays silent and creates dead air, or changes the subject immediately. But the end of the game, my pals were howling laughing about how obvious it is.

That said, I do agree with Troy that championships are all the matter, but maybe that’s because i very much enjoy hating Dan Marino.

  11. I always seen this as a jab at the sports writer and stats guys, game has changed! Doesn’t come across as a Mahomes jab!

  12. Does anyone need Troy to come out and heap even more praise on Mahomes? At this point you’re either on board that he’s the best out there or you’re just being obstinate.

  13. Best thing Josh Brisco has ever done is write create the tweet that elicited that response from Aikman.
