Giants starter Cale Lansville got the start in Scottsdale’s Game 2, and yeah…that score looks lopsided. It wasn’t all on Lansville (there was an error by a certain first baseman), but at least another Giant helped end the worst of the big innings Scottsdale had. But at least Bryce Eldridge picked up his first extra-base hit of the fall.

- 1B Bryce Eldridge: 1-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 2B (1), 2 K, 1 E (1) – Day 2 saw Eldridge get his first extra-base hit of the fall. He’s 2-for-9 (.222), but now also has four strikeouts with no walks early on, plus his first error.
- 3B Charlie Szykowny: 1-4, 1 R, 1 K – Szykowny got into his first AFL game, picking up a single. The 24-year old 9th round pick in 2023 had a .295/.362/.451 batting line splitting time between San Jose and Eugene in the regular season.
- SP Cale Lansville: 2.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, 1 WP – The 21-year old Lansville made the start, and had a mixed day, getting four strikeouts to no walks in the 2.1 innings, but also five hits leading to three runs, two earned, two of them part of that monster 8-run 3rd inning.
- RP Tyler Vogel: 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K – Tyler Vogel’s first AFL stint was one batter long, finally ending the nightmare 8-run 3rd inning with a fly ball to the only batter he faced. The 23-year old had a 4.74 ERA in 15 games at High-A this season, in a season in which he missed May, June, and nearly half of July due to injury.
