  1. Alright well based on rankings Downing had middle of the pack offenses at the Raiders and his first Titans year before going off the rails. So maybe he can do an average job for the rest of the season and we refresh the offensive staff next year.

Or we just keep sucking? Idk can’t get that much worse right?

  2. “I feel so fortunate that he is staying with us.” This makes me believe that Ulbrich is saying that they gave him to option to leave, if Hack chose to do so. So it would appear that Hack is totally stripped of responsibility.

    Good.

  3. You never know he could’ve learned his lesson from Tennessee. But he’s a better option than Hackett.

  4. “he’s also bad!” it’s not about that. we’re seeing actual accountability. that’s what’s important. now let’s beat the fucking bills.

  5. “How does firing Saleh fix the offense?”

Ulbrich announced a new offensive signal caller… he’s already doing more to improve the offense than Saleh ever did.

  6. Ok but how many teams switch both their offensive and defensive play callers mid season and that works out fine. Nat Hackett is an awful play caller but I think that’s the move that should’ve been made first before the saleh firing. Not both in the same week

  7. Just another conspiracy theory this sub put out to shit on woody that turned out to be wrong – turns out saleh being fired was performance based, I am shocked

  8. This Downing guy has been around since 2005,

How the fuck do you stay in the league for so long and still be totally inept on offense.

I am happy Hack is gone, but you’d think that Todd would be a success and know wevery offense and every scheme to throw at a defense. But he ranked so average or poor when he had a chance. How does a person like that still get hired? How does a person like that actually find jobs? How is he not good?

  9. Well, okay.

It can’t get worse than Hackett. I’m not sure whether this is any better, but, it can’t get worse. So fuck it, why not

  10. I suspect he will do an average Job. If Ulbrich can hold Staff and players accountable(also known as doing the job of a HC someone should tell Saleh) I think we can win some games.

  11. This is such a damnation of how bad Hackett is. That Todd Downing is seen as an improvement

  12. Well he was middle of the road with Tennessee and way less talent. We’ve been saying and the stats back it up that middle of the road offense makes this team a playoff team. If Aaron Rodgers and the our weapons can figure things out we should be able to make things work.

  13. If Saleh announced this Monday he’d probably still have a job. Instead he couldn’t make a decision and showed he’s incapable of holding Hackett accountable.

  14. Play calling is not the main problem.. fundamentals of blocking, understanding assignments, hitting the right gaps and spots is the problem.. Downing is a mess, I don’t know that I put any faith in his abilities over Hackett.. The right move is to fire Carter and bring on someone who can lean into the players and get them to focus & master the fundamentals of the plays being called.. Doesn’t matter who is calling the plays, if the players don’t understand their assignments and miss blocks, noting good is going to come of that and no plays are going to develop.. A lot of this is about focus and I’m not sure Downing makes the guys focus more then Hackett or vice versa..

  15. We go from the most terrible, worst playcaller in the league to simply a bad one. Improvement!

  16. b-b-but the media told me Saleh also wanted to make Downing the play caller and that’s why Aaron Rodgers got him fired????

  17. I like how Ulbrich called out the offside penalties, pre-snaps, focus, false starts. He knows what to fix !!

I like his answer about a heightened sense of urgency to come out hot..

  18. Per Wikipedia:

“On January 9, 2023, Downing was fired after the Titans finished 30th in overall offense and 28th in points scored (17.5 per game).”
