Do you think the Giants would have won 3 World Series if they were still playing in Candlestick?
The only thing is that A’s ownership could never afford to keep those promising players because they were priced out and that’s why they traded before free agency and lose everything on that player, that’s why they were traded to get something back in return. The athletics did it entire history in Oakland. Let’s not forget the first free agent in baseball was Jim catfish Hunter because Charlie Finley the owner refused to pay a $50,000 insurance policy on him. I’ve been an A’s fan since 1968 when I was 11 years old. I believe that Oakland only went over 1 million fans one season? And that’s the reason they didn’t have any money. They didn’t have the TV deals as the big teams did. When they did sign a player to long-term high contract a lot of times it didn’t work, but I don’t believe they’ve done that in the past 10 years? Don’t get me wrong. I bleed, green and gold. I’m sad that they’re gone, but I’m still an A’s fan whether it would be in Sacramento or Las Vegas I wish them luck.
