  1. You don’t sign him to the biggest pitching contract of all time only to not use him in exactly this scenario. I’m riding with Yoshinobu!

  2. It may work out for the best but why announce it now? I’d keep SD in the dark for as long as possible

  3. He has not been good against them in every opportunity. Hope it’s just the tipping pitched and they fixed it

  4. I do think this is the right move, we can’t expect what happened yesterday to work every time. If we are going to go far we are going to need Yamamato and Flaherty to give us length. With that said, if he struggles with control again then his leash should be short.

  5. I believe in Yamamoto. He got the experience he needed. He got humbled, and he’ll be back stronger than ever. He will pull through. This is a mirror scenario of what happened last year in Japan. He got blown up in game one for 7 runs, and then he came back to win game 6 while pitching a gem to force a game 7.

  6. Hmm. I think I would’ve started Brasier again as an opener for Yamamoto. Edit: with that being said, let’s rock n roll baby. GO DODGERS

  7. Whatever issues he had before, better hope they got worked on/addressed. I would assume he’s probably going to be on a short leash at the first sign of trouble. First things first, try to have a clean opening inning and go from there.

  8. Yoshi starts but Doc must be ready to take him out immediately once there is sign of trouble

  9. Give him a chance to show himself. He’ll either be pulled after 2 innings or he’ll last 5-6. He’s due.

  10. Short leash. Bullpen game in the middle. Flaherty saved for the back end if needed. All hands on deck. #LetsGoDodgers

  11. Love this guy. I commit to watching despite impact on cardiac and gastrointestinal health.

  12. If the Padres score a run, a homerun or bases loaded, put Flaherty. Then take him out if he does the same.

    Bullpen is our best chance.

  13. With his struggles in the 1st inning I was so sure they would use an opener then go Yama. Either way, this is what they paid him for. Hopefully he has a start like he did vs the Yankees 🤞🏼

  14. Let’s be real, if repeats what he did in game 1 he better switch off all social media because it’s gonna be rough. Please Yamamoto, don’t make us regret that there’s a 3 batter minimum tomorrow. We have so many relievers better suited to face their top 3 as an opener IMO.

  15. For anyone in Japan, NHK has moved the game to their general broadcast channel nationwide.

  16. I’d pull him if he lets 1 run in before the 3rd. Honestly I know that’s harsh but we cannot play from behind in this game. Tight leash on him tomorrow

  17. The leash better be super short. He was throwing wild shit in Game 1 with a ton of nervous energy. Zero margin for error tomorrow night.

  18. I hope he performs brilliantly, this is nothing short of a legacy game. So many mouths will be shut.

  19. Padres have cooked Yamamoto. I don’t agree with this. Dodgers can’t afford Yoshi’s first inning struggles. I would have liked to see bullpen arm inning one, then Flaherty once through the Padres lineup, then bullpen. I’ll be happy to eat my words c’mon Yoshi

  20. If Yamamoto has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Yamamoto has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Yamamoto has only one fan then that is me. If Yamamoto has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Yamamoto, then I am against the world.

  21. If the Dodgers are going to win the World Series Yamamoto is going to have to pitch and pitch well. Tomorrow is the start of that ascension. I expect that he will go all out for as long as he can. There is no need for him to try and go deep into the game, four innings all out and then the pen finishes the game.
