[Wood] Romeo Doubs says he addressed his teammates among returning this week. The #Packers receiver explains why he skipped practice before LA. “I had some things going on mentally.”

Hope Rome is doing okay. He seemed super overwhelmed here which is understandable.

Based on how his teammates have talked about it and how he is here I think it might be a mental health thing. Hope he’s doing ok and glad that it seems like his teammates have his back in the interviews they’ve had
Obviously I wouldn’t expect him to answer any different with a dozen cameras in his face, but it’s still good to see reporters remember that players are human beings too
Good for him, we struggle at times. Pro athletes are no different.
But i was told by a random cap guy on Twitter that he didn’t address the team and was avoiding accountability???
Hard to hear with all the background chatter, but props and utmost respect for him not only acknowledging it and addressing his teammates but talking to the media too.
We all have your back Romeo.
Damn he really sounds a bit shook up hope everything gets better for him
After hearing David Montgomery talk about being suicidal because of fantasy football haters, really hope it’s not something along those lines with Romeo.
Now we’re done with this event, let’s all move on and hope the team and Doubs can support one another when someone is struggling mentally. Mental health is important.
These were not “Diva” answers. I hope he’s actually fine, and if he’s not, that he’s getting help.
I hope he’s doing better or at least things are headed in that direction.
Mental health is important, kids. It ain’t weak to speak. Hope Rome is all good
Smart to get this out of the way on a Friday. Ball out Sunday and this will be 90% forgotten on Monday
Good on him. I hope this was just an isolated incident that has been resolved on both sides and he can get back to ballin’
I hope for his sake he gets support for whatever he is going through first and foremost
I hope he can get help/get thru this. Some things are much more important than football, having peace of mind and a healthy mindset is clearly more important. Our locker room has seemed very close the past few seasons and i’m hoping he leans on his teammates and they in turn are there for him.
The last question was kind of low, he handled it well
Patiently waiting for apologies from the various Wisconsin media members who dragged him all week under the assumption that he didn’t address his teammates.
Mental Health is a bitch, but it sounds like Rome handled this in a healthy way and apologized to his teammates for the drama. Very mature and respectable thing to do, I’m glad he’s doing better now!
Can we be very clear that he’s still not doing OK? I’m glad one of these reporters had the foresight to ask if he was doing OK… just back off the guy he’s clearly going through something and reporters and microphones in his face will not help. His mental health status being discussed on TV and social media is not going to help.
I hope he’s able to bounce back quickly, he’s a valuable member of this offense, and I hope he knows how much fans care about him and his mental health.
There’s no Romeo sees this , but I would just tell him “you matter”
In all honesty, he could really turn this into quite a public service announcement. You could talk about mental health and now it affects everybody. I’m happy. He’s in a good place at the moment. It also helps having supportive teammates.
Love you, Doubs!
Easy to forget the immense pressure and demand put on these players everyday in a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately business, on top of any personal affairs. I don’t know how they do it.
What is sometimes forgotten is, bunch of these players are super young. Romeo is 24. I‘d be overwhelmed too with the money, the national coverage, reporters in my face almost every day, high expectations, physical strain from practice and games.
Glad he is doing better
Man, I really hope Romeo gets a tud on Sunday and Lambeau fucking erupts when it happens.
Such a WR thing to say
Dude, look obviously uncomfortable with talking about it and media kept pressing him, media needs to chill out
This was a pretty shitty interview from the reporters, in my view. Don’t know if there was more I missed, but it’s clear he is going through something.
Why would he need to *earn* his teammates respect back? It’s a team for a reason, and even Watson emphasized the importance of feeling like a family again. These guys support each other in and out of the locker room; that was such a stupid question.
And there’s no one asking how he’s doing? No one just checking in on him? Idk, he clearly is not comfortable and I don’t feel like any reporter did anything to make this a more comfortable experience
Man. When I was 24 my mental health was at it’s absolute worst. I made poor decisions based on where I was at mentally, I can’t imagine having my problems amplified by media. Hope hes doing okay.
If you watch the interview Doubs appears extremely nervous and uncomfortable,
He clearly is taking deep breathes and thinking hard on what to say after nearly every question, before eventually mumbling “I don’t feel comfortable answering that question.” It is disingenuous.
But he always is sorta like that with the media. He produces the most boring QAs and seems like he’s not interested in a conversation at all.
While I agree it could be a “mental health” thing, there are a lot of ways to interrupt that.
I think his true self is hungry, too hungry to acknowledge the media, too hungry to celebrate TDs. He’s hungry for catches and yards.

I think he goes off for 100+ 1TD
