  1. Craig should have his own coaching staff, this should’ve taken place last offseason

  2. Nothing against Willie, but shaking things up is good even if the point is to shake things up. Craig getting to put his own pieces in the staff makes sense too. It will be mostly carry over players next year so having some renewal on the coaching staff could be positive

  3. Willie had a few bad sends this year, but he seemed like a great Vibes Guy and the players seemed to love him. Whatever, seems like the bone Jed & co. are throwing Craig is that he’s going to get to handpick his guys

  4. I said this when the other folks got let go. Was shocked he was staying. Great dude not so great third base coach.

  5. Thank you good lord. Seems like a chill dude…but I really think he doesnt have a great feel for the job. This year he just pretty much waved everyone home

  6. Dang! I loved Willie. Out with the old, in with the new, though. We’re assembling the Top Flight Security of the World, Craiiig.

  7. I’ll never forget that game against the Sox where he sent Bellinger when the relay man had the ball and Belli was like just stepping on 3rd. Probably the worst send ever but it worked because the Sox guy decided not to throw the ball. Like he couldn’t believe they’d possibly send him

Yeah, Willie seems like a good guy and the players seem to like him but I believe the Cubs were near the top of the league with runners thrown out on the basepaths. Probably need to make a change. Also to let Counsell have his own staff

  8. Did Craig call this? They’ve gutted that staff. Tommy hot stuff staying as pitching coach or no?

  9. Willie never met a send he didn’t like. Pitcher could have the ball on the mound and Willie would be liable to wave a guy home. RIP sweet prince

  10. Sucks because his crazy sends were unfortunately the most exciting thing about last year’s club.
