  1. Unfortunate but we still got a point, soda showed he may still belong in the NHL, and we showed that this team has improved despite the last few minutes. Only 2 games in so let’s see where we go after the road trip before we go gloom and doom

  2. 3v3 is all about retaining possession and getting lots of movement for a good high percentage shot, so of course we immediately take a long shot at a squared up, prepared, unscreened goalie.

  3. Played too conservative in the 3rd. Bedard barely got any minutes, and when he did everyone was just chipping the puck in. Teuvo with a horrible shot and dumb play in OT to lose possession

  4. We played solid tonight. Soda was good. A loss is a loss, but we are playing miles ahead of last season.

  5. Play that disciplined for 60 minutes every night and you’ll be taking a huge step up from last year’s dog water. Need to get better on faceoffs though.

  6. Maroon was an absolute menace tonight. A slow menace, but he was out there causing chaos.

  7. SO MUCH TO BE EXCITED ABOUT AFTER THIS GAME!

We were the better team, all night.

Donato making me miss Hagel a lot less and that feels good.

Kurashev was on the ice for both goals tonight. He gets opportunities but without Bedard drawing the entire ice his way kurashev is showing a major lack of finish.

The hawks had composure on both sides of the ice, stick handling from Vlasic was shining.

Jones played to his full potential tonight. Looked absolutely awesome, only missed mark I can call out was a fainted shot/pass forcing him to turn his back to the play… screening soda

The puck will start bouncing in our favor, and when it does all hawks lines will be scoring goals

Maroon was a great signing and showed up strong tonight

Mikheyev has a motor, he will be huge for us this year.

Sitting in the box was effective for Andreas

WE EARNED OUR FIRST POINT OF THE 24-25 SEASON TONIGHT!

  8. Not many games against playoff caliber teams where we earned points last season. Soderblom was solid. Overall we look like a team that will at least compete and make better teams earn it.

  9. Soda did considerably better than last season. I’m also excited to see more from Maroon

  10. gonna pretend the last 5 minutes of the game didn’t even happen… congrats on the shut out sodie

  11. This team is a waste for a player like Bedard, they traded players like kane, debrincat for lotto tickets

  12. The OT loss stung like hell but I’m seeing a lot of negativity that I’m not sure is warranted. I thought the positives way outshine the negative I saw the pieces coming together tonight.

AND this was against the best goalie in the league behind a team expected to go deep in the playoffs this year. Maybe I’m a naive optimist but tonight was a major step in the right direction

  13. It’s not often you can say faceoff % is a game difference maker but this one qualifies. Bedard and Dickinson were awful and their 1 total shot was the result. Foligno was the only faceoff winner and his 4 shots showed it. Scheif won almost 80% of his and got 6 shots and the win.

  14. The overall defense from the game as a whole was solid. Yea im not going to give medals to moral victories eff that. However Soddy, Mikheyev, and the defensive tandems looked good. Need to finish our offensive chances, the defense does give them to you. But overall we play teams defensively like this and finish offensive chances. We will surprise some teams..

  15. There’s wayyyyyy too much doom and gloom in here. Honestly, this game looked like a noticeable improvement from last season. We are only 2 games in. The jets just spanked the oilers, and we managed to hold it to OT. Sodie had a career game tonight, and Im excited to see how he develops over the season. Sure, offense and face-offs were very tough, but we are year 2 into a rebuild. Give it time and relax.

    Also, fuck seth jones

  16. Oh man, what a game. Refreshing the score app since I can’t watch it any more was just thrilled. At least Dollar Bill will smile in his grave tonight knowing people can’t watch his team on tv.

  17. It’s baffling the amount of fans who seemingly thought that the rebuild was over and the Hawks would be contending for a wildcard spot this season.

This team is better than last year’s, but it’s still a team that’s built to collect another high draft pick in 2025. The only teams in the league that are clearly worse on paper are San Jose and Columbus. Maybe Calgary too, but that’s a closer call.

This is what it looks like when an organization fully commits to rebuilding through the draft. I’m glad that they’re sticking to a clear long-term vision and not making panic moves to try and rush the process. The next 2 seasons are where things should start to get fun, as the stopgap veteran players get replaced by all of the recent 1st-3rd round draft picks who have been marinating at the amateur and AHL levels.

Games like tonights are exactly what I was expecting and hoping to see this season. We’re still going to usually lose to playoff-caliber teams, but the games should at least be competitive.

  18. If you want to exercise your right to complain because you enjoy watching your team win without being told you shouldn’t be negative because it’s only game ____ or player X is just ____ years old or coach whatshisface is great at _____, feel free to vent here 👇

  19. They probably don’t want to change the chemistry on the second line, but Hall went HARD on the forecheck tonight. I’d rather see him on line 1 than Foligno, and for the record, I love Foligno and am happy he has the C. But he’s just too slow to follow up on a dump and chase on line 1. Any time they’d dump it, which was a lot, it was pretty much a certainty it would leave the zone.

  20. I like the progress the team has made this year so far. I don’t really care about winning or losing games all that much, as the team we’re watching now won’t be the team we’re watching by the end of next season.

Bedard was nearly invisible out there tonight. I’d like to see less games like this from him this year than last year as a nice development step, but he’s still only 19.
