  1. Today’s Cleveland POSTSEASON baseball:

#FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2016, WE’RE PENNANT CHASING. NEW YORK, HERE WE COME, MOTHER FUCKERS.

Matthew Boyd👦 takes the hill for game 5 against his former team, and once again matched up with Cy Young Skubal. A first pitch HBP wasn’t great, and neither was the walk later in the inning, but the three strikeouts were beautiful. Steven Kwan👑 made sure there was no threat of a no hitter today with an immediate infield single (it’s not an error, they changed it (somehow)) to tie Lofton for the franchise career postseason hitting streak. Kwan was unable to come around, and it was right back to Boyd. He did allow a double (and a stolen base), but two more strikeouts got him out of the inning. Boyd’s quick hooked gave him a final line of 2IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, and 5K on 33 pitches (22 strikes).

K’d Smithmade an early entrance today, and the first horseman did his duty with a groundout, fly out, and strikeout. The series MVPs appeared again in the third, with a single from Rocchio and an error to get Kwan on, but no damage managed to get done (José🐐 intentional walk lol). K’d Smith rode again for the fourth, and got two powerful strikeouts before giving up a double and handing the reins to bullpen lefty number 2, Eric Sabrowski😎. Sab did allow a walk, but got a groundout to end the inning (give Rocchio a gold glove please).

Walters entered the game for the first man up in the fifth, where back to back singles gave Detroit the lead. Walters did record a strikeout before being pulled. The second of the horsemen entered the game, with bullpen lefty number 1 Tim Herrin entering the game. An immediate double play prevented any further bleeding.

WE REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE FIFTH. GIMENEZ🏅 SINGLE. KWAN👑 SINGLE. FRY🍟 SINGLE. JOSE🐐 HBP. LANE. FUCKING. THOMAS. 🚂🚂🚂 GRAND SLAM AND WE TAKE A 5-1 LEAD!!!

Horseman 2 returns for the sixth with a quick strikeout a line out to resident platinum glove (and rally starter) Andres Gimenez. A double and a walk means it’s time for the third horseman- Hunter Gaddis☠️. Gaddis does struggle a bit in the sixth, with a single and a walk to make it a three run lead, but strikes out Kerry Carpenter to halt the bleeding. A record speed bottom half of the inning brought Gaddis right back out. He recorded strikeout, but then allowed a single and a double to make it a two run lead.

The Guardians now turned to Eli Morgan🧯 to put out the fire. Nine pitches. Two strikeouts. Inning over. Steven Kwan resumes his absolute postseason dominance with a leadoff single off of Vest, who entered for Skubal (who gave up 5 runs). Fry goes down swinging, but José follows with a single of his own, AND WHO ELSE. Lane🚂 Thomas, RBI single to make it a 3 run lead again! Eli comes out for one batter in the eighth, and gives up a walk. ENTER THE DRAGON.

Emmanuel Clase🐉 enters with the need to record 6 outs. Out number one- a line out to Rocchio (who quite badly needs a gold glove). Out number two- fly out to Kwan (who quite badly needs another gold glove). Out number three- STRIKES OUT KERRY CARPENTER. GO SIT DOWN YA BUM.

THERE IS A ROCCHIO CHANT IN CLEVELAND AND HOT DAMN IS IT WARRANTED. 7-3 LEAD. *now, back to the dragon.*

Out number four- strikeout looking. Out number five- groundout. Out number six- groundout.

    #ALCS HERE WE COME

  2. What a freaking game. Five runs on Skubal is absolutely bonkers. Lane Thomas had probably the worst start in Cleveland baseball history and turns into Mr. October during the playoffs. Dude is just mashing clutch bombs. I’m so damn happy for him. I’m so damn happy for this team. I’m so damn happy for this city. Let’s go Guards!

  3. As heard in late July:

    > Thomas and Cobb as trade deadline acquisitions just aren’t going to cut it.

I’m going to need a moment to get the taste of my entire foot, and perhaps some ankle, out of my mouth.

Lane Thomas is the 2024 ALDS winner of the ‘Rajai Davis Award’.

(The Rajai Davis Decibel Award is given to the player whose homer makes the Cleveland Fanbase scream the loudest)

  4. It was my son’s first ever playoff game and he called the Lane Thomas grand slam… guess I gotta find a way to get him to all the home ALCS games 😳

  5. We fucking did it. Bring it on Yankees

Fucking tigers man. What a damn team. This rivalry means something now. Those fuckers are gonna annoy us for years to come. What a series!

  6. What a fucking series. I’m not afraid to say it: GG Tiggers. Y’all fucking showed why you were here and then some.

Time to see if we can thump the Yanks.

  7. THEY WERE FUCKING SAYING WE COULDNT SO SHIT AGAINST SKUBAL. THEY SAID THE “GRITTY TIGS” WOULD HAVE US BEAT. THEY SAID THE LANE THOMAS TRADE WAS BAD IN AUGUST

WE BEAT SKUBAL WE CAN BEAT ANYBODY. BRING ON THE STANKEES

LETS FUCKING GO GET THESE KITTIES OUT OF MY CITY

  8. Clase in that 8th innings against Carpenter was insane. 101, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100, 99, 100. WOW

  9. SKUBAL: COOKED

    TIGERS: COLD

    LANE: TRAINED

    JAKE ROGERS: STILL UGLY

    MICHIGAN: FUCKED

    IT: BOOKED

    CLASE: DISMISSED

FUCK THE YANKEES ALWAYS AND FOREVER

  10. So happy man , I am from England and watch as many games of the guardians as I can . I have to get up to work at 5 AM every day but I will be watching every game in the ALCS for this team , let’s get to the World Series !

  11. As a Tigers fan, beat the Yankees. What a fun series. Lane Thomas is as clutch as clutch gets. JRam is incredible. Nothing would make me happier than y’all representing the AL in the World Series.
