  1. Just a shame that Dominguez was nowhere close to being polished defensively.

He has so much more potential at the plate but Verdugo is just the better defender now

  2. In the playoffs defense wins games. So this move makes sense. If Dominguez was up to par defensively he’d play.

  3. Ok but maybe pinch hit for Verdugo and use Grisham as defensive replacement if he’s gonna keep grounding out to second base.

  4. can we stop singling this dude out ffs

we won the ALDS with him starting in Left and he wasnt anywhere close to the worst player on the team. we’re going to be fine.

    8 more wins.

  5. Should’ve traded for a platoon. Lane Thomas was a perfect fit. It’s insane to me how we have Wells, Jazz, Verdugo and Rizzo/Rice that are 0’s vs LHP.

Next year, along with Jasson, we need a platoon for Jazz, Wells and hopefully can get 1B that can mash.

  6. Why don’t they just play Grisham? He hit better than Verdugo this year and is a better defender too.

  7. Not really worried about Dominguez, give home a full season and I think he will be fine he is still so young. We got to see him flash the bat at some points. As far as Verdugo starting I think it’s the smart move. Still can utilize Dominguez off the bench whether it’s his speed or bat then use Grisham as a replacement

  8. It’s a no brainer at this point. Dominguez isn’t ready and the postseason isn’t exactly the time to develop a player. You want a developed player there. If not Verdugo, then it’d have to be Grisham to at least have good fielding out there.

Dominguez needs a full spring training and start game 1 of the regular season, give him a full 162 game sample size like they did with Volpe. Stick with him through his struggles and let him develop. The postseason isn’t the time for that.

  9. I don’t understand how you can keep trotting our Verdugo when you have Grisham on the bench

Apparently we have alot of shadow Verdugo fans impressed by his .216/.270/.257/ 51.5 wRC+ over the last 2 months (including the postseason)

  10. Any chance of Dominguez starting was squandered when he played terribly in the outfield on the West Coast trip. Verdugo has played good defense, made a good bunt, had a game-winning hit, and scored on a couple of rallies in the last series. He wasn’t a total zero at the plate.
