  1. [This is the incident he is talking about.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jJ8HpuXd4M)

It was in 2004, LeBron just turned 20.

(LeBron’s memory was just a bit off).

LeBron James’ birthday is on December 30th.

So it had to happen on December 29th, 2004, since it happened on the night of his 20th birthday (when he is just about to become 20).

So it happened on December 29th, 2004, during the 2004-05 season,

[According to BBref, ](https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/mutomdi01/gamelog/2005)Dikembe Mutombo was 38 years and 187 days old at the time.

[Game log](https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200412290CLE.html) – the Rockets beat the Cavs 98-87.

    LeBron finished with 3 points on 0/5 FG, 0/1 3PT, 3/5 FT, 3 Rebs, 5 assists and a +/- of -10 in 17:23 minutes played.

Dikembe finished with 7 points on 3/6 FG, 1/2 FT, 9 Rebounds (2 Off. Rebs), a turnover, 2 fouls, and a +/- of +5 in 21:21 minutes played.

Dikembe Mutombo played in the Rockets until his retirement, at the age of 43 (last game at 42 years and 300 days, in the playoffs – he was barely playing that 2008-09 season though – 9 regular season gams and 2 playoffs).

  2. I just think LeBron is so damn funny. My favorite memory of this guy who just died? Well he broke my face on my birthday… hahaha LeBron is pure comedy because it doesn’t matter if he’s trying to be funny or not it always comes off as funny to me

  3. It’s actually funny he is two years off on his age at the time. He was only in his second year in the league at that point but to him it felt like four years had already gone by

  4. Him getting hit in the face was his fondest memory of him? Of all the interactions and all the amazing things Dikembe has done and he picks this? Dude is so weird lolz
