[Jon Krawczynski] Wolves F Julius Randle played it coy at shootaround when @SbondyNBA asked if he was playing tonight. I’m thinking it might be another game before he makes his Wolves debut

  1. As long as he’s practicing with the team it’s all good.

He will get up to speed and we get more NAZ time until he’s ready.

  2. Given the lack of live ball reps with the starters, I think Randle should come off of the bench for the beginning of the season. Following this game, there are only two more preseason games. Personally, I don’t think that is not enough time for Randle to build confidence in his body and the system. The west is too strong to inject this player into the starting lineup and figure it out as we go. As we learned last year, a game can be the difference between the first and third seed and we shouldn’t risk these early ones to work out the kinks. The ant-naz-Rudy lineup is battle-tested and serves a much better option for at least the beginning of the season.

  3. They can’t use risk injuries as an excuse unless he’s not fully healthy yet. If it’s just because of the chance he’ll get injured then what’s the point of even practicing? There’s always a risk of getting injured at practice. Preseason is the best practice because the games don’t matter yet and you get to run full court 5s against teams other than your own
