Tired of his fruitless speeches!
Hey fellas….Look at Sam all cleaned up….looking good Sam, it must be ladies night somewhere….lol!!!! Michael Richard from the "BESTBANK" of New Orleans….WHO DAT!!!!!
Carbon copy of his letter to the fans the past couple years. I agree Sam, absolutely tone deaf; SMH.
How about a letter to Soto.
Copy and paste from last 3 years😂😂 go check! Also extend Wisdom and Mastrboner!
Spend some fucking money Tom.
I like that Matt is an English teacher. It means that unlike most sports radio guys he isn't constantly misusing words haha
I would disagree with Sam on this one. Rickets needs to spend and that’s what I would like to hear from him
S.O.S. Same old . . . They are a poor baseball organization. They are not baseball smart. How else can you explain the Cubs? A responsible owner would be looking to improve their organization. Jed’s had enough time.
What is Sam always looking at next to him.
I do enjoy your show
Injuries aren't an excuse. That's what the minor leagues are for. Other teams suffered major injuries but had depth in the minors to cover them. Where were all these great players in the Cubs' pipeline supposedly? And ineffectiveness of veteran players is another reason to stockpile players in the minor leagues. Why did the Cubs let the team-wide hitting slump the entire month of May continue for the entire month of June without trying to inject some life into the offense with a few call-ups? Why did they continue to pitch the same relievers who had proven to be untrustworthy by blowing so many saves, only to see them blow more saves when they could have brought up a couple of their best young arms much earlier in the season? They were incompetent.
Go Cubs
Yeah
Sam’s letter to the fans…. Was better 👍
RICKETTS IS TOOO CHEAP
Personally, I take a "I'll believe it when I see it" approach.
I hope they grab another pitcher for the rotation. I hope they grab at least one more arm for the bullpen and don't play cheap by grabbing some guy who is getting the minimum. Pay for the talent needed to get the job done.
I am hoping that better health helps the team right the ship. I don't think huge changes need to happen to the lineup, but some are going to have to happen.
I don't know what to do when it comes to Cody Bellinger. No question he is a seriously talented player. His inconstant play at times is frustrating. (At the plate).
I don't know if he should stay, hope he decides to leave or if he opts in, trade him. I don't know.
There is no question that PCA is likely the CF of the future. He is getting better everyday. So either Cody is going to be a corner OFer or DH if Michael Busch is going to be at 1B.
Which means trading off one of the guys in the corners to keep Cody.
I honestly don't know what the right decision is.
I know with the 8 guys in the minors, there is going to be more snd more pressure on the current crop of OFers to produce or go.
Hopefully when it comes to 2B and SS, better health can lead to better results.
3B, I am not sure.
C – Who knows. It seems like MLB is in a dark time when it comes to great catchers. You have 3-5 guys who are really good, 25 guys who are below average and everyone else barely able to hit a baseball at the position.
I know it typically isn't the most offensive position. It still needs to be better though. It is ridiculously bad. I get that pitch calling and framing are highly valuable as well as overall leadership and defense from the position. There are pitchers in MLB right now that could out hit many of the catchers. It shouldn't be that bad.
Pitching needs to be addressed. Right now it is Justin Steele and Shota Imanaga and I don't trust anyone else in the rotation right now. Potential is there, but the Cubs need one more guy at least to make the rotation a post season caliber pitching staff.
Just my opinion. I think I have a valid point though.
Great show guys. If Tom wants to write a paragraph and single out four players by name who made significant contributions to the team, that is fine. However, his following paragraph should have gone something like this: " I am really tired of signing large paychecks to underachievers like Dansby Swanson and Cody Bellinger. I am getting annoyed with Jed spending $9m on Hector Neris and another $9m on Drew Smyly. Of course, Jed and I will discuss his strategy for dumpster diving to fill out our bullpen".
