  1. Senga had no business starting that second inning. The guy had nothing and obviously couldn't handle the moment. Huge error by Mendoza. The Mets have also fallen in love with the home run and everyone is coming up trying to hit a 5-run homer uppercut. When the Mets are at their best they work counts, shorten their swing and keep the line moving and look for certain counts and situations to look for a ball to drive. The ball doesn't carry at all in LA. Marte crushed a ball that probably goes out at Citi Field but not in the dead air in LA especially night games. They embarrassed themselves tonight and didn't look prepared to play this game at all. Flush it down the toilet and reset for Game 2 to try to go back home tied up.

  2. Mets lineup and lackless offense and defense look overmatch no chance for a comeback win senga look awful shadow of himself butto shaky mets have to create runs steal bases small ball move runner up to score in position let gooo mets turn the page with a game 2 win tomorrow going back to city field game 3 real champion never quit let go mets

  3. Dodger fan here. Not going to lie, the Mets scare me. Their resilience, their ability to overcome any deficit, makes them a potent opponent.

As good as the Dodgers have been these last few game, they’re an injured squad. At one point or another, all the injuries will catch up to them.

  4. Tip your cap to Jack Flaherty and the Dodgers on the Game 1 NLCS whitewashing.

    A couple of points:

    (1) Jesse Winker pulled a "reverse Daniel Murphy" tonight at Dodger Stadium. We all remember Daniel Murphy in Game 5 in Los Angeles back in 2015 streaking to 3rd base when he realized that no one was covering the bag. Winker had a tremendous brain fart on the base paths tonight, so I guess the baseball gods paid the Dodgers back tonight.

    (2) Mets were down 6-0 at the time, so this is a minor point. With Vientos up and two runners on and a 1-1 count, the ump called an extremely generous low strike that the catcher framed by pulling up. Would have loved to see the Mets scratch out a few runs against the bullpen in either the 8th or 9th inning. Dodgers have been pitching great since Game 4 in San Diego, but remember, they haven't delved into the other parts of their rotation. We will see where guys like Buehler and Yamamoto shake out and if they will be able to get by with bullpen arms in one of the games in New York like they did in Game 4 against San Diego.

    (3) Dodgers haven't been on a plane in a few weeks, after earning the bye during the Wild Card round and utilizing the freeways to get between Los Angeles and San Diego during the NLDS. If the Mets can scratch out a win in Game 2, things will shift for the Dodgers and there will be many questions as to how they will handle the travel and arrange their rotation arms going forward. I understand that the last time the Dodgers traveled to Citi Field in May, that they swept a series. Of course, the last time the Mets were in Chavez Ravine, they took two of three from Los Angeles back in April. I would argue that this Mets team is a very different one from the April/May rendition. Getting a victory in Game 2 is certainly the key to extending this series and putting some additional pressure on the Dodgers, who have heard plenty of criticism in the past few seasons over the early playoff exits….

    (4) I have felt this way since before he got activated before the Atlanta game in July, but I would not pitch Kodai Senga again in the postseason. This is not second guessing. My opinion is that the Mets should have shut him down for the season once it became clear that he wasn't right in spring training. Too much invested in him long term. Have we not learned our lessons from Pedro Martinez, Johan Santana and Matt Harvey?

    (5) Lastly, Mets fans, please stop panicking. It's a best of seven series. Tip your cap to Flaherty and the Dodgers. Can they keep up this "torrid" pitching pace? Is 1988 Orel Hershiser (and Mike Scioscia for that matter!) walking through the bullpen door at Citi Field? Time will tell, but give the Mets a chance to come back this series. They've earned that right based on a 162 game regular season and two playoff series victories thus far.

  5. Senga obviously knew he didn't have his stuff while he was warming up , why go out and cost your team a game when you know you didn't have command is my question . Tell the manager that you just don't have it BEFORE taking the mound.

  6. My problem two days ago, now and the rest of the week is after three days off are we doing a bullpen game for game 1 of the NCLS !? Now our pen is screwed up, starters all off regular rest. Foh with this guy that didn’t pitch. Our guys deserved to start game one. Phillies is gave up HR first at bat. So let’s try again?! He walked the bases loaded!! Gone done. No more after that!! Wtfff

  7. Speaking as a Yankee fan and a Mets hater.. I needed a good laugh…. Go dodgers!!!! Dirty looking Emma Roberts still haven't taken a shower.…
