He didn’t admit it was his fault. He said signing Ohtani wasn’t feasible because of the Trout & Rendon contracts.
If he was to admit it was his fault he would say, “I screwed up by signing Rendon. Because of that, I can’t afford Ohtani.” Also if he cared, he could do many things to correct his mistakes.
Rendon was a consolation signing because he couldn’t get hometown boy Gerrit Cole. We didn’t need him. Should have misspent the money on pitching as he intended.
