  1. Before he even used the example of football, it sounded exactly like it. There is a logic to it. But he isn’t even applying his own logic well. He’s just making up bullshit to cover his ass, putting aside the “educated in America”.

I’m willing to bet it’s the team carrying him but he’s too much of a fuckwit to figure it out.

  2. Guys guys guys, listen to me.

We dress one guy, for one shift, for every single position.

That way we get prime performance from each player. That is the absolute essence of football, huh I mean hockey.

    Nailed it.

  3. “Remember a player like Schulscher (talking about Solskjaer — ed.) from Norway?”

The saltiness by the reporter who wrote this, lmao.

  4. >You must have been educated in America

Well Canada and the US kind of think the same and win all the hockey tournaments so….

  5. So he thinks he actually thinks this is a good strategy?

Based on how he talks about being educated in America it seems like he has some resentment towards US or North American hockey.

If that’s the case it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s benching Demidov purely out of spite.

  6. Solskjaer was an OK player who was a super sub because he wasn’t good enough to be a starter at United in that era. He was great super sub in that usually always made an impact off the bench but there was a reason he was always on the bench. The other strikers on the team were much better than him.

Either he doesn’t know much about football and Solskjaer or he is saying Demidov isn’t good enough to warrant more minutes.

  7. The question may have come from someone educated in America, but his answer was definitely from someone educated in Bullshit.

  8. I think this just shows the serious problems with the KHL.

I’m not all that worried, his stats may not be fantastic, but it’s a single season and it will not derail his development.

Players develop in tons of different leagues. If laval keepa it up, and reinbacher plays deep into the playoffs maybe he plays 30 games. We may look at it as a lost development year when it .ay be 6 games less then Hages full schedule.

Frank Nazar got 13 games in his d+1 and no one panicked.

Coach is an idiot, but the system over there allows him to be. KHL is a joke.

  9. Get this guy the hell out of the KHL already! he isn’t developing anything but rusty skates & dust on his Montreal Jersey! This KHL coach is just wasting time at this point…

  10. Russian Mafia extorting us to be able to develop our player.

    Not particularly surprising really.

Hopefully he’s playing for the Habs sooner than anyone expected.

  11. The way changes/subs and playing time are managed in soccer (football) and hockey are pretty different at the pro level. Comparing both sports in this context is just stupid. There were plenty of situations where he could play Demidov if he wanted him to develop. It’s not like in soccer where subs are limited and you can’t sub in a player who you’ve taken off. But of course he doesn’t care about his development so he just invents this bullshit explanation.

  12. Holy fucking shit the mental gymnastics going on here are insane.

“Yeah, so giving one of our best players less ice time will make him more likely to score. If you don’t get that, you’re clearly a dumb North American.”
