  1. Not as devastating of a loss as NLDS G2 and G3. Pitching was mostly solid, but the offense left much to be desired. That being said, this is the same team that shut down the red hot Padres, and the Mets are already looking less formidable than them.

The doomers can fuck right off.

  2. We need so much more out of Ohtani and Mookie. It’s as simple as that.

Knack was an unfortunate symptom of our current pitching injury situation. Today’s game never was going to, nor should it have been, managed anything like game 4 of the NLDS. That was win or go home. This is game 2 of 7 in a series you’re leading. With our limited options, Knack had to get multiple innings at some point. I’d much rather it be now than later in the series because we gassed out our high leverage guys in game 2. Pulling him early may have felt good today, but would’ve set us up for a higher likelihood of pain tomorrow. Remember, in the playoffs you’ve gotta manage the series, not the individual game.

Not stressing too much though. We’ve been down before. Blake T, Phillips, & Kopech will be ready to roll. 7 game series are long. Dodgers in 6!

  3. Our MVPS went 0-12 tonight, can’t expect to* win a game like this these mfs gotta step up

  4. Hey on the plus side at least we won’t be seeing Landon Knack for the rest of the year

  5. Welp, hope saving the high leverage arms was worth it. Still gotta hit, our missed opportunities with runners on is what really killed us today just as much as a bad Knack inning.

  6. It was a valiant effort, lads. It just wasn’t meant to be. Picking Knack for your starting pitcher proved to be a fatal mistake and was a stupidly bad decision. In any other game the Mets don’t jump out to a 6-0 lead like that. Not that early and not without you guys drawing blood too.

It was just an insurmountable lead with Manaea on the mound opposite you. He’s their best pitcher and he carved the Phils and Brewers up pretty good too.

Let them have their stupid little moment and celebrate beating your worst pitcher. They’re not gonna jump out to a huge lead like that again, that’s for damn sure.

And on the positive side, the rest of your pitching lineup did their fucking job quite well. They stemmed the bleeding and held New York at 6. The offense just couldn’t get it going early enough and missed a couple opportunities to score with RISP.

Shake it off and come back next game. Your starting pitcher beat you today, not the Mets.

  7. Good news is that our bullpen still looks really solid and we didn’t use most of our best ones. Major kudos to Honeywell too.

Knack deserves to be held accountable for the loss but our offense didn’t show up when it mattered. This post season’s success has always been dependent on the offense showing up. That hasn’t changed at all. We won’t win games where we don’t punish teams that walked our batters this much.

I really hope the players will come back hungrier in two days.

  8. Shohei, Mookie, Teo, Freddie, and Will Smith went a combined 0-19 from the 1-5 spots. That won’t happen every day, let’s regroup and get the next one.

  9. This felt like a regular season game. I’m still feeling pretty good going into New York.

  10. Knack cannot step on the mound in October again outside of mop up duty. His stuff is awful and does not work when hitters are locked in. Just awful. At least the pitching is set up well for the next three

  11. Dave roberts needs to treat every game like theyre important. We needed it to stay at 3 runs in the 9th.

  12. Gotta say, the score doesn’t reflect how many times he had opportunities. The loss sucks but I feel good about it, our worst pitching vs their ace. I’ll take it. Let’s get em in NY

  13. Optimistic outlook here:

Mets only did serious damage on Knacks blow up inning and scored 1 off Henriquez who’s our least experienced pitcher on the roster. Still have Yama and Buheler and we didn’t use our best relievers! We’ve faced there their top 2 pitchers, now we’re after their 3-4 guys and there bullpen that’s shaky. Off day tomorrow to reset. I’m sure majority of us aren’t panicking with what we know above, I think we can take 2 of 3 in NY and wrap it up in 6 at home!

    LGD!!!

Note to Robert’s: MOVE OHTANI DOWN! Bros 0-19 with no one on!

  14. # Thank you HONEYWELL. Played his heart out. HE’S A DAWG!! 🍯🍯🍯

  15. We fought hard but couldn’t execute. I thought it was gonna be Dodgers in 6 and I stand by that. They’re gonna be tough. One bad Knack outing did it. I’m not worried yet.
