1. What upset me more than anything was Pettersson's commitment and effort. He looks like he's out for an easy casual skate. Flipping the puck into a corner then meandering around. No going hard to the net or into a scoring space. A couple of his bum checks was all the effort he could muster. The same as the end of last year, he just seems uninterested. 10 games to show he's worth the moneyed then jettison out of here.

2. Petey looked good in the first period, but then reverted back to second half of last year Petey. Timid and lacking confidence. WTF???

6. Canucks stopped skating after taking that lead, it's a simple as that. They went back to their old habit of passing the puck around the net and Mantha burned them on the turnover. You can blame goaltending but what do you expect when let Calgary walk right in? Not good enough defensively. However its the very first game, and it's not surprising that they are rusty.

9. Petterson called it last year shouldn’t have paid him more than 9.5-9.9m per year. Great player but 11.6m was on overpay imo

10. We saw plenty of Juulsen last year and he is WAY better than either of the guys they had on 3rd pair last night.

14. Pettersson and the goaltending are the two biggest concerns for the Canucks. Silovs couldn't stop a beachball in the first game and Pettersson looks like he's still in a fog. Lankinen was a good backup in Nashville last year, so he obviously should get the start, and if Elias doesn't start trying, Miller should rattle his cage. If I had a teammate making obscene money who didn't give a f&*$ I would be none to happy.

18. He didn’t impress but he was far from egregious as well. Miller got a Gordie Howe hat trick but was also responsible for so many giveaways I thought he changed his name legally to Mr. Beast.
