  1. The entire article could just say it’s because he is on the jets and would be 100% accurate. If Helle was on an American team it would be non stop glazing, but he is mostly ignored here, like everything else the Jets do. It’s like the first goal from the last game, an offensive zone face off with 3 seconds left and the jets score with their goalie pulled, an incredibly rare event and something that should be talked about league wide, and I have seen one video on it on YouTube, an Eck one.

  2. 1. He plays in the smallest market in the league.
    2. The Jets haven’t been good playoff performers since their 2018 run. People care more about playoff success than regular season accolades.
    3. He plays in the smallest market in the league.
    4. His technique is very sound he doesn’t have to make a lot of highlight reel saves. Not very sexy for TV.
    5. He plays in the smallest market in the league.

  3. Never mind playing in a small market, Bucky’s gotta have a deep playoff run to get more recognition. Even when we were getting dogged by Colorado last year, if Bucky stole a couple games for us, he’d have more respect. Just look at how Igor’s viewed now or Otter. We know Bucky’s better than all these guys, he’s just gotta perform when everyone else is watching.

  4. Because he plays in Winnipeg.

    /thread.

Though I’m not sure how underappreciated you can be as a two-time Vezina winner and 3x All Star.

Kyle Connor flies under the radar more.

  5. I mean if he just performed well in playoffs maybe he wouldn’t be. Playoffs get more coverage from the general public rather than regular season

  6. As critical as I have been of Helly in the playoffs, the defense constantly hung him out to dry in the Colorado series. Regardless, he needs to be better.

  7. Phenomenal goalie during the regular season, but he’s very underwhelming in the postseason with the exception of the 20-21 season.
