  1. You gotta see who recovers faster and who can pitch better on 3 days rest. Is it Quintana or Sevy? Sevy is a high velo guy so you assume he’s better on full rest. I think you see Sevy for 2-3 innings, Quintana for 2-3 innings regardless of anything for a game 7. Whoever is better on 3 days rest is who starts game 3 Evan but you’re the genius 😂

  2. I also think Quintana should pitch over Sevy. Thought it was a no-brainer, but they need to pull him before the wheels come off. Let's hope for a great start from him.

  3. The bookie thing is not creative. That’s some real life ish and if he had nothing to do with it you’re bringing up something messed up that happened to be. They stole from him. Also why bring it back up if he’s innocent? We’re taunting him for something he didn’t do? How’s that creative. Low key very prosecution-like …. Corny

  4. I am getting a little sick on Mendoza playing his urges and hunches. JD in game 3 over Winker? Seriously??? And Senga had no business starting Game 1. Manaea is the closest thing we have to an ace. You start your ace in a playoff series, so he can come back in Game 5 and then be available out of the pen on 3 days rest for a potential Game 7. That his been standard baseball for over a century.

  5. Alright I give up. He responded to the email that made the most sense with “why does every team put their best pitcher game 1” … Evan he gave Sean an extra day off because that’s what he had vs the Phillies and looked incredible. You’re such a tool lol

  6. You are absolutely right that Severino is being lined up for Game 7 and the logic behind this can NOT be explained because there is no logic behind it.

  7. I believe Mendoza is doing a great job for the Mets.

But I don’t understand why righty Severino is getting the ball in Game 3 when lefty Quintana is also fully rested. The scheduled Game 3 starter (Severino) will be available for Game 7 Monday night on regular rest. The scheduled Game 4 starter (Quintana) is almost certainly going to get only one start in the series. The Dodgers, including Ohtani, are vulnerable to left handed pitching as demonstrated by Manaea in Game 2 yesterday.

Quintana has been lights out in his last 8 starts, allowing 3 Earned Runs in 47.1 Innings for an ERA of 0.57. This includes a 0.00 ERA in his first two postseason starts.

Severino in his last 8 starts battles but has been barely average, allowing 22 Earned Runs in 46.1 innings for a 4.29 ERA. This includes a 4.50 ERA in two postseason starts.

The only possible rationale I can see for starting Quintana in Game 4 is Mendoza wants him to face ace Yamamoto in that Game. I would rather have Quintana in Game 3 vs Buehler and Game 7–possibly vs Yamamoto on short rest.

This decision could decide the series.

  8. Quintana isnt a good matchup bc he depends on the chase . Hes gonna have to go right after ppl like Muncy Othani etc they dont chase the soft stuff in the dirt.
