* Foligno tipped in a Jones shot, responding 10 seconds after the Flames scored.
* The Hawks played well defensively, holding the Flames to 3 goals ( including an empty netter).
* The Hawks started the season 1-2-1 on the road and return for the home opener Thursday.
Our 3rd period game sucks
Need to put Reichel on the Dickinson line, most likely for Anderson
fell apart at the end
I feel like Bertuzzi has been a non-factor thus far
If you would’ve asked me what I thought our record would’ve been before our home opener, 0-4-0 would have been my answer. We played damn well against some quality teams. Happy to see us come home with 3 points.
I kind of like this team
Bertuzzi is invisible out there. Dude does absolutely nothing I stg. Same as AA, who had a couple good touches but ended up contributing nothing. With AA you at least kinda know what you’re getting but you expect more from a guy like bertuzzi. Dissapointed with him thus far. Also, can’t believe I’m saying this but I kinda missed having donato out there tn, the guy has been playing great so far.
Love seeing Trashville below us in the standings
We are *much* better than last year, but with a lot to still improve on. This is exactly what you want at this point in a rebuild.
Only caught the third period but the offensive execution looked very sloppy, worse than the past couple games. Flames were constantly gumming up the center of the ice and the Hawks kept trying to force passes through or make the extra cute move. Hope to see better on Thursday.
Bertuzzi has gotta get going here. The third line is playing very well so you’re not splitting them up. 17-98-86 is staying and you’re not putting him on the 4th line so he’s pretty much stapled to the second line.
I’d like to see Reichel in for AA Thursday.
We played really well the first half of the game. Their PP goal on Bedard’s penalty really deflated us.
Still felt we coulda won this game with some luck. Not bad hockey overall… we get off track at times but we had some momentum at times. That first PK we almost scored a shorty.
Improvements will come, and we ARE already more competitive.
We played good. Felt like Bedard was buzzing. But after it was 2-1, it seemed like we couldn’t really make a consistent push. And Wolf played well too.
Aside from his shot on net, Jones been pretty mediocre, looking like a bottom pair D with those hands. Surprisingly Maroon stands out in a good way so far. Bertuzzi is a shithead, and Bedard keep shooting.
Really been solid thus far. We had some good chances but Wolfe made some incredible saves. Sometimes a great goalie is just the difference.
