Would have to think this means Fischer will be ready for Thursday
and
Petry will be ready and/or management is confident in Johansson
So Fisch and Petry must be good to go.
My god Watson is one terrible player.
Kinda sad about Holl, idk how sustainable his game is but he looked real good the past two we had him for
I think i’d rather have Holl than Petry after these last 2 games
Watson looked like a career AHL player. How he got the contract over Kasper is beyond me. I don’t know all the ins-and-outs of contract stuff but daaaaamn.
Paper move
Holl wasn’t likely to sustain what he pulled off the last two games, but the org should be rewarding it anyway. Even if they know Holl will regress, they should be showing the team that earning your spot is still a thing – but after last season it feels like it’s not, at all. Performance doesn’t matter, contracts do.

With the next 2 days being off days for Detroit, sending these 2 on paper to GR saves daily cap space. Since they’ve both already cleared waivers recently, they aren’t eligible to be claimed by another team. They have to play 10 games or go 31 days since they were originally put on waivers before they have to clear again, same for Husso. If Petry and Fischer aren’t ready to be back in the lineup on Thursday, fully expect both guys to be recalled the morning of game day. The benefit of these paper transactions are the dollars against the cap they tally up for every day they are “in the AHL” that could potentially be used to add at the trade deadline, or pay towards Kane’s performance bonuses with this years cap space and not next’s.
Right after I said holes out for holl. 😞
I thought Holl played pretty well.
Holl played the third most among our defensemen last night so he is obviously the worst guy and shouldn’t play, but also better than 5 other guys on the roster who aren’t hurt.
Somehow.
There’s gonna be a bunch of these paper moves all year. What about we don’t make it a big deal every single time Holl and Watson bounces? It makes sense to have Holl assigned to GR on off days cuz we will open up more and more cap space throughout the season this way
How long before we get one of those fancy hyperloops from Elon to go from gr to detroit?
