Alright guys, I hate to do this.. but I feel the need to stir up an argument here.
Ryan Smith needs to get rid of Ainge. the dude has lost me (and many other fans). I had hope initially but my patience is gone. There's no clear path forward here and it feels like this rebuild is gonna take another few years before anything happens.
A 6 year rebuild isn't acceptable. Jazz Nation doesn't have this type of slump in our DNA. Outside of a few years under Corbin, the jazz ALWAYS make the playoffs. We are in year 3 of this atrocious span of fidgeting somewhere in the middle of the standings… where management intervenes to sabotage an over performing roster. We are going to end up with 6 years of missing the playoffs just so we can someday come back with a roster that will likely be lesser than the Mitchell/Gobert roster.
Send Ainge back to Boston. This dude was in THE PREMIER market/destination in the NBA for damn near 20 years and yes he got one single title.. but in my opinion that's serious under performance for being in Boston. SLC is literally the least desirable destination in the NBA and we need someone that can manage us as such.
Let's get back to a "win now" attitude and reclaim the fan base. I don't know how much more I can deal with this nonsense.
Also, for those of you who think our current roster is a "tanking" roster,…. I'm really sorry but you're morons. (No offense). Lauri/Clarkson/Sexton gonna get us a bunch of dubs. Once again we'll draft in the teens and get someone that will take several years to develop and we'll rinse and repeat until 2030.

I don’t like his white hats
Yes this is an unpopular opinion
Poor guy
No
Free agents never willingly sign with Utah. Rebuilding make sense to develop players to hopefully be good players, if not superstars. So far Keyonte, Taylor, and Cody have potential to be very good players, and Isaiah, Kyle, and Brice have potential to be good players. Players drafted in the Jazz system likely stay, so Rebuilding through the draft is crucial. Our best free agent is Carlos Boozer, and Bojan, stars don’t sign here, so the only way to get good players, and stars is to develop players through the draft, and hope they become a star like in the 80s with Malone, to the past few years with Mitchell
Your patience is gone? We’ve been bad for two seasons my guy.
Some Jazz fans are so privileged and disillusioned lmao. Go post something like this in the Hornets sub or the Pistons sub and see how quick you get laughed out
No one has and no one will. Get the Jazz a ring
Would you rather win a championship after a multi-year rebuild, or make the playoffs and lose in the first round every year?
I think you’ll get a lot of people who rage downvote, but I don’t really think you’re as wrong as others will think you are
10000000% agree….. Both Smith and Danny can walk. They have done nothing but destroy this franchise by their lack luster ability to properly tank 2 years ago which has continued this mess.
We’d really hate to lose you.
At least you recognize that this opinion is unpopular. A long-term rebuild takes time. Look at OKC, they committed to a patient rebuild and now have a team that’s set to be highly competitive for the next decade. We’ve done well with our draft picks. The only thing I wish we did differently is moving our mid-tier vets and fully committing to a tank season. We should have done that Wemby’s year, but we’ve still gotten some solid pieces from the last few drafts. I hope we make one final solid tanking effort for a top 5 pick in a strong draft this year, and then we’ll be on our way. We’re in a good spot. Ainge is proven and I have full faith in him and the front office.
All time L by OP. Just pathetic. Makes Jazz fans look like idiots.
Amen. I would say that Danny Ainge has singlehandedly ruined the franchise but Ryan Smith is also responsible. This sub is filled with people who never watch a whole basketball game or go to the arena, who think the league is just a nba2k team. The winning culture, the professionalism, good fans, home court advantage. All of these things were killed by the hubris of this fraudulent huckster.
Even the Corbin years weren’t this bleak. I wish Ainge would fuck off forever and go ruin someone else’s favorite team.
Couldn’t read past your first paragraph. You my friend have no clue what you are talking about.
You get it. People that think he is putting together pieces to build a winning team are gullible. He isn’t going to do that until his winning boston team is no longer playoff contenders. This whole theory we have to wait 3, 4, 5, or 6 years to have a winning team is dumb.
Def a unpopular opinion which is fine in of itself. But don’t come here calling folks morons. Be a cunt and you’re going to be treated like one.
A couple of key points you made here:
>This dude was in THE PREMIER market/destination in the NBA for damn near 20 years and yes he got one single title.
This guy was the president of basketball operations in Boston for almost 20 years, they got a ring in 2008 which was primarily done through smart trade moves. They also got a ring in 2024 with a crew that he mostly assembled through the draft and a successful rebuild. This is 2 more rings than we currently have and drafting/trading is what we need since we can’t attract free agents over here.
>We are in year 3 of this atrocious span of fidgeting somewhere in the middle of the standings… where management intervenes to sabotage an over performing roster.
This is proof of how much of a success this rebuild is so far. We have gotten so much young, raw talent that we can’t fully tank successfully. They try to sabotage it because they want to hit a full tank, but what we have right now is too good, and too young to trade away.
Also let’s not forget that in 2 consecutive drafts we had lackluster picks (including 3 in the “worst draft in decades”) and all 6 are looking like minute-worthy guys for the first game of this season. To go 3/3 in back to back drafts is insane and worthy of keeping this guy around as long as we can.
Danny Ainge plays the long game. There is a reason the Celtics won this year, and he was a huge part of it: https://youtu.be/KR4i1Q-gBZA?si=khRXyHou8Qi9lMcS
We’re at the bottom of the rebuild curve right now bro, way too early to make this call
bye
Celtics fan here. This guy is one of the reasons we won the chip last year and why we are so good right now. Give him time
