I think the Sixers are going to be good this year, but there’s definitely a > 0.4% chance that Embiid and PG miss most of the year and they lose in the play in

No preseason odds on favorite (per basketball reference) has missed the playoffs going back to 1984-85. Only a few have been first round exits.
Boston not making at least the 2nd round would be a disaster year (whether that’s injuries or whatever else). From the 2nd round on, it’s always been about matchups.
