Matt Duchene leads the Dallas Stars in a Shootout Victory over Sharks! First 4-0 team in the NHL!

The Dallas Stars remain perfect on the season with a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks in a shootout and become the first 4-0 team in the NHL this season. Jason Robertson, Matt Duchene, and Wyatt Johnston all scored in a shootout to help lift the Stars over a hungry Sharks team. On today’s episode of Locked On Stars, Joey breaks down what he noticed from the game and how performances from Duchene, Logan Stankoven and others helped Dallas prevail. However, the power play still has room to improve and Joey found something he thinks the Stars can do to resolve their issues specifically on their offensive zone entries. In the final segment, Joey offers a final takeaway from the game and the 4-0 start to the season ahead of the Stars heading to the nations capitol to face the Caps in D.C.

  1. Watch jamie Benn in front of the net on the power play. He’s screening the goalie until he sees a shot coming, once Jamie sees a shot coming, he goes off to the side to tip the puck like a high schooler. Jamie has to maintain the screen, and try to tip it while holding that spot. Dallas is doing a bad job so far this year screening

  2. This team is prime. They tip toe at the beginning of games; I think that's a part of the plan. The Stars have the makings of a Stanley cup team.

  3. No not really, haven't seen much from Bourque that impressed me at all in this game. He's been invisible to me so far but I'll give him some slack since he's returning from an injury. I'll be more concerned about his productivity if he doesn't start racking up some points in the next 10 games. Dutchy has to be the Star of the game with how he energized and woke up the rest of the team in the second period after that abysmal first period which made me want to stop watching the game lol. Oettinger was great as usual but Blackwood stood on his head up until the shootout where the better more experienced goalie took the Dub and rightfully so with how well the Stars were playing in the 3rd period and most of OT.
