What is going on with the Vancouver Canucks right now?

The Vancouver Canucks fall to the tampa bay lightning in a tough one, JT Miller and Elias Pettersson haven’t exactly found their footing yet and the Canucks didn’t look engaged in this one.

  1. i’m confident we win on Thursday, not a single team has went 0-4-0 so far buffalo was 0-3-0 and broke their losing streak against the panthers and i think that we can do that same thing, the canucks will bounce back just a rough start and all the fake fans turning on the team after 3 games is crazy to me

  2. I will say, Tampa definitely have something to prove this year with the way the last couple years have gone. I'd say reevaluate after the 15 game mark.

  3. I appreciate the optimism but here is my perspective as an endlessly patient lifetime Canucks fan since they entered the league in 1970. I'm tired of seeing other teams consistently hit the ice at the start of the season with confidence and clearly well prepared. I completely understand we have many new players; I understand the focus on evaluating our prospects in preseason; and I understand the motivation behind line juggling and early call-ups; but what I see on the ice doesn't match what I'm hearing from Toch or any of the players. They say all the right things, they use phrases like preparation, but they hit the ice and look like they've never met each other, they have no confidence, and they're lost. Where's the swagger? I see it with other teams (Lightning). On paper this is a deep team with just a few gaps on defence and some goaltending concerns – but they're playing midget hockey.

  4. Sure, Juulsen blew a tire and lost the puck, but quickly got back on his man. It was the rest of the guys that lost their assignments leading to the goal. Myers gaff was worse allowing his man to score the 3rd goal and fundamentally eliminating any comeback.
