  1. I mean ive watched so much film on Lane Hutson. Hes playing already over 20 minutes a night and hasnt really had many bad shifts at all. His NCAA numbers exceed the likes of Quinn Hughes Cale Makar Adam Fox. And through 6 NHL games has record 6 points. Its not often no matter what defenseman you are you jump out the gate playing top 4 d minutes and heing ppg. Even if he dosent finish ppg. I can see 60-65 points. Especially if he takes on the PP1 role

  2. I was a nhl fan, the era 1991 to 2008. (saw the Habs cup in 86 as a 4yo, 1993 as a 11yo) Watched some from 2008 to 2016, watch the playoffs since 2012. But now im interested : with the tkachuk, domi, bourque, kapanen, koivus entering generations of kids and nephews of my era of the nhl (1990s) I'll be happy to see familiar dynasties whom I loved the fathers of !!! Jaromr jagr I hope someday has an heir ! RED WINGS are my team… soon the new generation will make them Great again, but i lived the glory! I lived it all with my Sergei Fedorov & Lidstrom squad ! With hasek 1 time we got a cup too! The greatest goalkeeper in all sports on earth ever : Domink hasek, all sports counted

  3. All we keep seeing is Demidov's offense there must be a reason they don't want to give more ice time to a player with offensive skills.
Hutson cannot make ANY excuses about his D partners because he is equally as bad and sometimes just mind boggling bad with his decisions but again all people see is the positive.
Slafkovsky also does NOT deserve an AGE excuse you either have hockey IQ or you don't and his game is far from complete he is real dumb in the defensive end.
I can only sssume this guy and others are not actually watching the games it is not the physical it is the fact the forwards don't cover anyone they give opposing players as much as 20 ft that is pathetic coverage from an NHL player.
There have been times our forwards were getting in the way of our defense stifling them from moving it is THAT bad.Opposing defense could bake a cake send a text message and write a novel with how open they are.

  4. Lane Hutson should be with Slaf at the very top. A good question to ask, is "would you trade tomorrow Hutson for Cooley if the offer would come on the GM"s table?" My answer is NO WAY. That says something about the rank of Hutson in this redraft.

  5. Its time to just ignore Pronman and his opinions. The guy has a hate on for the Habs players and prospects. At the very least he gives too much credit for height.

  6. Both Struble and Barron are not in MtL long term plans. So I suspect both those guys will be playing, to build up their skill level and marketability. I would love to see Arber and Struble, but wouldn't be surprised if Arber sits.

  7. Dach is playing with Armia who is not exactly a top 6 forward (I like Armia, nobody better on the PK than him and Evans in my book) But he is not Patrick Laine and neither is Newhook. I think we will begin to see a change when Laine comes back and then when Demidov joins next year that ill give the Haabs 2 electric top lines reminiscent (depth wise not style) of the Penguins combo of Crosby/Malkin lines. Great show Josh! GO HABS GO!🏒

  8. Gotta like how they ranked Slaf first…although I'm kinda leaning towards Cooley being the best prospect at this point. The guy is dynamite as a playmaker! But no worries about the Mesar ranking. It was a wasted pick from the get-go, in my mind. Hutson, though, has totally surprised me. I was worried that his skill set wouldn't translate very well to the NHL level, but from everything I've seen it totally does! 😃

  9. About Demidov…we wouldn't be so stressed about it if we'd made the right call on drafting Michkov the previous year. He's already showing that he's going to be a superstar in the NHL. Can't explain why Demidov isn't being given the ice time in the K, but coaches obviously see things about his game that they don't like.

  10. About our issues on D…HuGo should not have given away Kovasevic. He was our 2nd-best player over the past two seasons in 'above replacement' metrics, behind only Suzuki. And Kovy is NAILING it in NJ. Leading the team in +/- and second in total ice time. To think that we gave him away for a 4th-rd pick just drives me insane. Ar just turned 27, he's only beginning to enter his prime for the kind of D-man he is. We're gonna regret giving him away for nothing, this season and long beyond.

  11. OOOOHHH…*PLEASE* can we get rid of Barron!?!?! HuGo's awful trade to get him was a disaster in the first place, and all Barron has ever done since is proving that. All he's doing right now is preventing a far superior player (Mailloux) from getting NHL ice time and experience.

  12. Strubble is in for Arber

Barton has played much better than Arber.

I love Arber but he is not playing physical nor is he playing solid D

    Strubble can bring both

  13. you still talk about what pronman says !!!! ive been watching and playing hockey for over 55 years ! this guy is a bone head and everytime he publishes or says shit hes looking more and more like serevalie a real dumb ass !! hes become a real joke ! and i hope he reads this and contacts me will copare who , what , and weather he understands the game of hockey !!

  14. Slav’s development = longer curve due to his size. He will be a star player (25-40 goal scorer for his career if he plays with play makers. Re-Habs D, Hutson should not be with Savard, but with Guhle. He needs to be with speed to make space for him. That will be his best protection form getting worn down. Reads on Baron are off, he’s very young and very good. I’ll go with Crosby on this one. But go trade him like Sergachev and he can have success in Van, Winnipeg or back to Colorado and win a cup while the Habs play golf. It will be fun to watch Allen and Kovacevic go deep in the playoffs this year.

  15. Barron will come out for Struble. I don't see him playing with Hutson however. Move Savard up with Matheson, Guhle with Hutson

Dach wants a night off, Newhook moves to C, move Kapenen up to the 2nd line, and rotate Pezzetta in. Pezz has yet to play. I get it, Emil and Kapenen have been playing well, but if you want to add some toughness to the line up….bring in Pezz.

  16. Shane Wright in top3 is a joke. Bad joke. I think he has had so much time to show he is top player but failed. He needs like 100shots to convert to 1goal. Actually much much worse than Josh

  17. Dach still needs to regain his NHL rythm and cannot be achieved not playing as much as physically sustainable so to me it's best he gets moved to the 3rd or 4th line but on a wing as the extra freedom of movement there can do no harm to him and I'd move Dvorak to center the 2nd line, not Newhook, I'd place Kapanen at center on Dvorak's previous line (which could be the one with Dach on the wing)

  18. Corey Pronman is a writer/ reporter, and evidently he knows how to write a sentence. This does not mean he knows hockey. He has never coached, scouted or played the game. Pronman = meh

  19. I love them both, but Hutson/Struble is like the blind leading the blind. A sophomore and a rookie, no matter how good they are is not a great idea to me. They're 3rd pairing at best if united and that is not the optimum way to deploy either of them.
