4. It just doesn't make sense to me. I'd honestly rather let the rookies come up and just play and if we get a top 10 pick then good we probably need it. I just don't understand the point of this team, like it's a bunch of mid vets that won't be here, let's just let the rookies play

5. Im starting to think Lalonde has the guys practice too much, problem motivating, always says he wants the guys to keep it simple, which is why the other team read the wings so easy. Tanguy special teams coach should be replaced, should have been gone last year. Charoit said in post game interview that alot of guys have great offence that is being told to focus more on defence. Lalonde needs to have the guys show there true skills instead of holding them back. I truly think Lalonde's system is awful. Why does it take new players that get brought in 2yrs to acclamait them selves. Some of this is on the players but obviously more on Lalonde

6. Gustafson stinks. Idk his numbers last year but I watched almost every rangers game and he stunk. I can’t believe he’s on PP1 for the wings.

7. I hate Michael Rasmussen dude gets paid just for his size. Man cant shoot, hold on to the puck ,deflect, screen, nothin.

10. seems like it all started in preseason with zero accountability for the veterans this team looks lost and confused on every shift! were right back in 2019-20 all over again no direction at all from the coaching staff! 🤷‍♂️🤭👎

11. I’m done giving a shit about this team for now. They could probably lose in the third round of the Kelly Cup playoffs. Panarin has scored more goals on the wings this year than the wings have scored total as a team all season

12. Here in Sweden we get a score on each player in the games and Seider is the best player of the GAME 3 times sofar with the score of:
    @Panguins 9.3 1st
    Nashville 10 1st
    @NYR 7.6 (not first)
    NYR 9.3 1st

    So can't blame him for sure…

15. I have been a Lalonde defender, and I still want to be, but after tonight (even though I’m not giving up yet) I have started thinking who I would want as a replacement. My first thought: Gerard Gallant. My YouTube friends, let’s brainstorm…please tell me some other names that could be good coaches for us

17. What always strikes me is, I watch other teams and their games; take Caps vs Stars latest for example. The teams seem well composed, structured, efficient, possession plays, defense is calm and ordered.
    Every time I watch the Wings we are dumping the puck, its a scramble, there's no offense or zone production other than circling around the defenders, and there's not even a hint of set plays except for cross crease back door passing. Our defense is like swiss cheese with defenders seemingly flipping coins as to who they will defend against, bad positioning due to the lack of offensive structure and every team just walks into our zone with minimal effort.
    I thought we were better than this? Lalonde needs to go. His system doesn't work. Puck possession works. Dump and chase does not.

18. The departure of key veterans last year and the addition of worse players is why we are worse than last year.

20. Dump and chase can't be your only strategy. Only larkin, kane, ed and mo seem to be able to take the puck in.

21. Still believe in Yzerman, but he did handcuff the Wings in the short term with excess veteran placeholders. I don't have confidence our bottom six forwards or the defense will reproduce the offense provided last year. I do agree the top six will get it together. A coaching change may be on the horizon, but Yzerman needs to choose a long term solution if it comes to that.

25. Why are the Wings paying Rasmussen 3.2 million and Veleno 2.3 million? 5.5 million goes a long way to pay for a 20 goal scorer.

26. This team is about 25% less talented than last season. Yzerman continues to show, he does not have the smarts to be a GM. Tampa notwithstanding, if he was really that good, he would still be there. No Defense, no Goaltending, no Character, and just the most uninspiring coaching in the NHL.

27. This team is like a bully. They come out strong, play fast, get a lot of chances, but often don’t capitalize (Debrincat). If the opposing team lets them run around, they can make you pay, but as soon as the opponent punches back this team crumbles. Is that coaching? On ice leadership? Personally, I don’t think it’s personnel. I genuinely think this is a good roster with some, admittedly large, holes in net and a couple on D. I’d like to see seider on PP1 and Gus scratched most nights in favor of A Jo. Keep Holl in until he gives you reason not to. And lalonde needs to be on a very short leash. It’s only 4 games. The season is far from over, but this trend can’t continue.

36. It’s kind of crazy how I worried about how they looked during preseason but everyone said not to worry about it. Now it looks like they are still playing preseason. If something doesn’t change soon this could be a long season.

37. Can we for the love of god stop trying to put positive spins on where this team is. They suck, constant whiffs on the puck, couldn’t hit the damn net if they were standing in it, and the moves yzerman did for this defense has made them worse.

43. No chemistry. Just a bunch of random players thrown together. There all playing as individuals out there it feels. More of the same from the defense. Same as last year. And lalonde….he is no leader. He is a little bitch. Loser mentality. If u remember his interviews last year when we lost 7 in a row. Yzerman is on the hot seat for me.

44. I don’t think Lalonde has the ability to inspire and motivate. In fact, it’s quite the opposite…when I try to listen to him speak with press, I have to tune him out. His demeanor is flat, boring and lifeless. Which is how the team looks.

45. Tyler motte getting whiplash from running his head into a Rangers hip then looking for a penalty sums up how atrocious this team is. Speaking of motte, why is a human punching bag that creates nothing, in the lineup instead of Kasper? And why do they continue to put chariot with seider when every time chariot gets the puck in the offensive zone he either throws a shot from the point that gets blocked or misses the net or he skates the puck down low and turns it over? Why does it matter if edvinson plays with seider when your wlenyire team sucks, if your trying to balance the defense and scoring don't bother, chariot sucks, gustafson sucks, maata sucks, holl sucks, speaking of which where is Johannes? He has one good game and then it's thanks but we don't need you anymore. Is this team playing for a top 5 pick? None of these decisions make sense unless you want to tank your season, but at this point what dies it matter. And none of this is going to change anytime soon because you have the wrong ilitch as owner. Just look at how terrible and with the exception of this fluke season how terrible the Tigers have been once the old man kicked the bucket. Detroit has 3 of its four teams: pistons, Tigers, and wings with the worst owners in sports, and so this is what you get fans, enjoy the lions because other than this fluke tiger season these other teams are just a giant disappointment and will be until ownership changes.

46. Worry? No. But this team is still building… I’m sure Yzerman has tried to do things – he likely couldn’t because more money was being dished out by other teams…. This compounding with the expectations wrongly from last year. A lot of luck in those wins last year – Dcorps (Beyond Seider) needs to be addressed. Let Johansson play and time to sit/demote or trade Chariot, Petry and Holl (Holl can likely do 3rd pair) too much money tied up in those 3 and unstable goalies. Reality is we should have the same expectations as the start of last year…. Still 2-3 years away from playoffs.

47. You don’t bench Johansson until he earns the bench. Gustafson is terrible. Putting him on PP1 over Seider is criminal. In what universe does Ras slot in at line 2 over Tarasenko? Really poor decisions. Not impressed with Motte or Gustafson at all. If this continues you have to bring up Kasper and slot him in the 2C/3C. Push Compher and Copp down the lineup and Veleno out to the wing. Waive Motte. Hell, bring up Mazur too and waive Fischer. I’d rather struggle with youth than watch this.

    If I was Yzerman I’d start talking to Quenneville. I think Newsy might be in over his head.
