Can the San Francisco Giants Land Juan Soto?

The San Francisco Giants are gearing up for another blockbuster pursuit in free agency, eyeing Juan Soto as a franchise cornerstone, per the San Francisco Chronicle. According to the Chronicle, the SF Giants have a “sliver of hope” that Soto doesn’t want to play second fiddle and may want to sign somewhere where he’ll be the face of the franchise, which could eliminate a lot of competition.

With the recent promotion of J.P. Martinez to pitching coach, the team will continue to lean on its analytics-driven strategy, a move that reveals some of Buster Posey’s vision for the organization. Meanwhile, the Giants celebrate three Gold Glove finalists: Patrick Bailey, Matt Chapman, and Mike Yastrzemski.

Join us as we explore the Giants’ strategic maneuvers, the influence of Posey’s leadership, and the potential impact of these changes on the team’s future. Will Soto be the face of the franchise in San Francisco? Tune in for an engaging discussion on the Giants’ evolving landscape.

  1. It's comical home many people think they know it's a done deal that Soto is staying in NY. The Yankees can extend Soto right now, they could have at anytime extended his contract. The fact that they haven't done so means it's not a done deal regardless of the %. Another comment I is the "short porch in RF" BS. Soto's shortest HR to RF at Yankee Stadium this year was 340 feet, his next shortest was 361 feet, the next one after that was 380! Oracle RF is 309 to 365 feet. Don't tell me he's going to staying in NY for 2 HRs! The reason no one is hitting HRs at Oracle is because Yastrzemski and Wade Jr aren't' in the the same league when it comes to power hitters! Get a true power hitter and they will hit HRs at Oracle just BArry Bonds did, and just like players from out of town hit them. I beleive Soto hit 2 HRs the 3 game series in SF this year and Judge hit 3 HR. The Giants aren't doing that because they don't have those type of players and aren't intimidated by that.
