  1. Unfortunately you can't take it seriously when Cal Ripken only won 2 of these and should have won 5, Derek Jeter won 5 and had no business ever winning any. You could easily see of these two who was flashy but couldn't make plays and couldn't go to one side versus who made many more plays, but made them look almost boring even diving to the other side of 2nd base, setting and throwing the guy out.

  2. Are the defensive runs saved stats counting all positions played or just LF? I imagine Cowser has much fewer innings in LF than both Kwan and Verdugo since he played CF a good bit.

  3. 1st base not the hardest, eh probably true, but a bad first baseman can cost you a ton of runs. Chris Davis's bat may of cooled way off, but the runs he probably saved stealing hits on the line, or catching throws that were off line, saved prob a ton of runs. We've seen Mountcastle do the same. add in fielding foul balls that might be difficult to catch for outs instead of just a strike. Ya, wont argue SS and CF are probably the hardest positions on the field, but don't discount how many runs can be saved, by preventing errors, or hits robbed down the line, that a 1st baseman can bring.

I feel for any OF that ends up having to cover all three positions. You may play great outfield, be nominated for a spot you played really well, but maybe all your highlight plays were elsewhere. Best of luck to Cowser!

We all know Mully is a Gold glove player, even if the award numpties do not. Watching Ceddy rob hitters of doubles, and homers, is a joy to watch.
