From June 28 (the day after Adley got hit on the hand with that foul ball), James McCann slashed .270/.333/.460/.793 for the rest of the season with a BAbip of .324. Had a chance to be a playoff hero and fell far short, but he certainly wasn't the only one in a series where the O's scored only 3 runs in 18 innings against a team that was under .500 against teams not named the White Sox in 2024.
While I liked McCann I would say no. I would rather the Os take all of the money for free agents and resign Santander or Burnes than him or O’Hearn, others. If his money plus O’Hearn’s money could help bring back Tony or Corbin that would be my preference.
