Hey Cardinals fans, Tommy Edman is the NLCS MVP!

Hey Cardinals fans, Tommy Edman is the NLCS MVP!

Brenden Schaeffer discusses Tommy Edman’s major triumph as the former Cardinal didn’t take long to become a Dodgers legend. He’s the NLCS MVP after his incredible performance in Game 6.

Is anyone surprised to see another former Cardinal thriving after they leave St. Louis? How do fans feel about this one? It truly couldn’t have happened to a better guy, but it also might be a bitter pill for fans of the Cards.

  1. Tommy Edman was my favorite cardinals. Showed he could put up a 6 WAR season, switch hitter, multi positional asset…. perfect for the dodgers honestly. I'm glad we're not squandering his potential in this (lately) abysmal organization

  2. When everyone was bitching to get rid of Edmund there was me and 2 others in here saying don't do it and everyone was telling us we don't no what were talking about that shows me that 98% of the people that's in here don't know wtf there talking about. And I don't care about excuses he is one of the best utility players around, not a good deal, and it did not make sense. Sorry, sir but decisions like this is why the Cardinals are in the position there in

  3. If Edman Would not have gotten her at the end of the 2023 Season He would have still been here but with the emergence of Seani in CF Somebody had to go.Yeah, they could have treated one.The other guys but that's the guy they got Got rid of Another classic Mo move

  4. He was the 3rd best player on the team. He was our most versatile defensive player. Just another desperate move by an overmatched GM. Fedde has a 5.4 WAR in 7 years. Edmon, 17.9 WAR for 3.9 seasons.

  5. At least he escaped the new “cardinal way” we all knew he was a baller and needed to be on a good team to let his career skyrocket. You saw what the FO got for him. Tommy deserves better and now he has it.

  6. Brenden, nice work! Edman is tough, he was pricing out of our range so better to get some pitching. I am a life long Dodgers hater though and I feel worse about the Yankees. No real reason to hate the dodgers except for the many playoff games against them. I will root for great plays but neither team and dream of better times ahead. Go Cards.

  7. I knew that mo was making A big mistake trading Tommy edman !! They didn't even give him a Chance to come back after his injury ! Then one of the guys you got for him , you release !! Mo needs to be kicked right square in the A$$ !

  8. I don't necessarily dislike the guy, but it is interesting that his wrist healed as soon as he left the cardinals. Either he didn't know it was hurt that bad or he was dishonest about it. It's severity.

  9. Good dude happy he's doing well. I'm rolling my eyes, because Cardinal fans will endlessly b$tch about the trade much like the Arozarena trade, but the reality is Randy is a walking strikeout and mediocre outfielder of course they won't acknowledge that fact just he had some success for a couple of years

  10. Congratulations to Tommy Edman and Jack Flaherty for making it to post-season. I'm sure Shildt was glad that even though he fell short against the best team in baseball, he left. Arenado is probably sorry he didn't have "professional differences" with Mo. We need Fedde to be a solid middle of the rotation more than we needed, Edman.

  11. Yeah, the Dodgers have Friedman — a former college baseball player who wanted Edman — while the Cardinals have a bow-tied fishing buddy, a legacy brat/Harvard MBA who can't recognize his business's competitive advantage, and Friedman's former office-lackey — a trio of nerds who fantasize that they're baseball-smarter than Friedman. But they're not. So…rinse and repeat for the foreseeable future. Indestructible mediocrity is the gift that keeps on giving — brought to us all by a decade, at least, of hubris and intellectual dishonesty. =/

  12. I said day 1 the Cardinals got fleeced in the Edman deal, and you said I was crazy. Now Edman is an NLCS MVP, Fette is nothing more than an inning eater, and Pham got DFA'd end of August. Terrible trade.

  13. I am happy for Tommy. Always a class act with the Birds. But there is some sadness that he did this in a Dodgers uniform. Anyone who doesn’t admit that is just lying to themself. That being said, I don’t feel that the move to trade him was a bad move. He’s had a great playoff but it won’t surprise me if next year he cools off to more around what his career numbers say he is. And we have players who can do what he does. However I will always have respect for him. He was a good Cardinal

  14. Root for the Dodgers. That’s laughable! I absolutely hate the Dodges. No matter who’s playing for them. Plus it will basically proves that you can just buy a World Series

  15. I predicted in your comments that Edman would end up being NLCS MVP when we traded him. I'm apparently clairvoyant.
    I'm very happy for Edman.
