Yet Bell got all the blame
Frankie Montas i don’t think nick krall said was the answer. I thought he said he was a guy that would a veteran. But yes your point still stands Jeff.
They need to find a way to sign Nick Martinez. I hate jumping on a recency bias bandwagon, but he proved enough to be worth locking him up
Montas threw 1.1 innings in 2023, he was never considered the answer for the Reds rotation in 2024.
The Reds spent the 4th highest amount in free agency last offseason. When a small market team spends that much money, injuries cannot be addressed properly.
Luis Robert had a 1.4 war and quite a few fans want the Reds to trade for him. He also had a .224 batting average.
C- for Krall's 2023 offseason moves
Your closing comments about ownership and money constraints are spot on. Fans need to accept the market the Reds are in and they cannot spend their way out of bad trades or bad contracts. The two teams in the World Series can do that.
Finally for the first time someone kind of goes on a rant about people getting on the owners about how they hamstrung. People don’t want to accept the truth but that is the truth. People too many times blame the owners when they can’t do anything.
Um in order to keep producing we would need to the unthinkable. Manage like the Tampa Rays. Meaning develop great players and trade them with 2-3 years control in order to get the greatest return, This isnt going be a very popular ideafor people who want Elly and CES for as long as we can keep them. Same with Hunter and Lodolo
