4. It's simple math guys, come on. There's $132m potentially after the 3rd year, totaling $242m over 5 years. That equates to $40m more than the other guys 5 year deal. Now if he makes the qualifiers, he can get even more max money.

   Sengun is considered the best prospect with the lowest floor so far.
   Houston is in a once in generation situation.
   They have TWO ROOKIES they have to pay. Other teams don’t have this dilemma
   On top of the 2 current rookies. They literally have 2 rookies every year for like 3 years consecutively to have to give extensions too.
   If they set the precedent of giving max contract extensions to rookies who have yet to prove they can take us to the playoffs, then they are going to be having to overpay EVERYONE for 3 years straight.

Cade, Mobley and Scottie don’t have player options . They’re locked in til 2030. Jalen will get out his deal in 27 at age 25 before he hit his prime for a 3 contract. Jalen will see more extensions over his career. There wasn’t a money out there next summer either. Just two teams had max slot
