This episode explores the underperformance of young pitchers Reid Detmers, Griffin Canning, and Patrick Sandoval, questioning if expectations were set too high for these rising talents. Tyler Anderson’s season is also under the microscope, as his strong start gave way to a disappointing finish. The lack of a clear offseason plan left the Angels relying on unproven talent, contributing to their struggles.

This next season all depends on the arbitration salaries. Half of the relief pitchers and some position players. Partial list of the expected arbitration as follows:
Taylor Ward $9.2M
Sandy Being Sandy $5.9M
Rengifo $5.8M
Canning $5.1M
Adell $2.1M
Detmers $1.9M
Moniak $1.8M
Thaiss $1.3M
Burke $1.2M
Quijada $1.1M
Fulmer $1M
The $9.2M for Ward is not worth it IMO. I would just keep Rengifo, Adell, Moniak, Burke, and Fulmer.
Expectations should be the same as this season. Just a steady progression of all the young players. Have replacement depth for Trout and Rendon no matter what. Unless Arturoball breaks the bank and spends on SP and quality FAs, it will be another losing season.
You guys are always cheerful and great. Yet, now we all are like the main character in a Woody Allen’s movie after a painful breakup.
