spirited debate this episode. i can see both sides.
I can see Cam going to g league maybe because his minutes might get reduced because Tari is back.
As for Reed he playing right away from what it looks like there no way he going to the G-league.
Because I think Ime and everybody has been so impressed with him at PG and how he ready is that he going to be a main part of the second unit.
Also we need a backup PG we can’t have Fred play 40 plus minutes a night that can’t happen.
So Reed with his passing and shooting is the perfect player to take the load off of Fred
Building scrub value is not worth the loss of potential production. Boost Tate by 5% is meaningless when other options are better. Tate is a good for the start of a rebuild. Acting like 4 scrubs is going to land a superstar, nah.
Sengun at least shoots 3s, Adams shoots 15 3s in 10 seasons. The projected 2nd unit is lack of shooting, Adams and Thompson are non-shooters, Tari has low volume and mid to slow release, they better have stellar defense and transition game to compensate that, otherwise the half court offense can get ugly.
I don't think Udoka would change starting lineup, but I suspect he would sub VanVleet or Sengun out early and let them help 2nd unit
I keep heraring this "Amen is functionally a fourth year player." and "Amen is the same age as Green and Sengun." Amen was born in 2003, the same year as Jabari Smith. Green and Sengun were born in 2002. Amen came into the league at age 20, the same age REED Sheppard is now! I know Amen is really good , but please let's not set double standards for Amen!
Salmon made ridiculous claims. It’s nonsense to think Cam or Reed need to, or will go to the G-League. Both are considered rotational players in the 2nd unit. Cam’s mins will be limited initially, but he’ll be the next man up to grab more mins once an injury/rest occurs. It’s silly to say we need to play Tate over Reed or Cam lol. Amen should definitely start over Bari, or Tari over Dillon. The starting lineup needs another athlete and more juice. Amen over Bari makes the most sense and he’d be fine playing next to Sengun.
Was Salman intentionally taking the opposing outsider opinion on this episode or does he really believe this stuff. I don't normally think his ideas are quite so off.
What a bad take Tate has regressed he doesn't belong on roster
